…and I don’t mean the Spartan Rank, I’m talking about the competitve skill rating in each playlist.
Could someone please enlighten me on how is it considered fair to get a -20 at the end of a Breakout match when I went 10-6 and 2 of my teammates quit within the first 2 rounds?
In fact, the 2 of us made it all the way to round 9, so we did really well. Why do I get -20 for a match as unfair yet as close as that, but only get about +6 whenever I win a match?
It’s ridiculous. The penalty is too much. In fact, I should have been rewarded for putting up a fight as good as that one.
But this isn’t just about me. I’ve seen plenty of posts around halowaypoint that have the same complaint. The ratings should not depend only on win/loss, because in situations like the one mentioned above, I have no control over my teammates quitting.
Most of the people reading this will think:
“This guy’s just ranting because he lost a Breakout match. Suck it up and get good” but no, this has been an issue since the beta launched but it should be addressed before Halo 5 launches later this year.
“It’s a team playlist. You either win or lose. You either work well with your team or you don’t. You deserve the -# for losing.” No. If that’s the case, the competitive SKILL rating isn’t reflecting what it’s supposed to. If you lose 4v4, then the experience penalty should reflect your performance in the match. If you went positive K/D but lost, you should not lose as many points as you currently do, since it’s based plainly on win/loss right now. But come on, -20 for a great performance in a 2v4 match is preposterous. I can never reach silver 2 because losing is always -11 through -88 but winning only gives me +6 through +14
And the worst part is that it seems you plan on turning Halo into a MLG PRO ESPORTS TRYHARD FEST instead of a fun shooter like Halo 2-4, yet you implement an outrageous skill rating system like this one. It baffles me, really.
