I like to experiment around with my rankings so I made a secondary XBL account to test out some slayer. I played all 10 games with my buddies (all in diamond-onyx). Naturally, we were playing mostly high diamond-low onyx players. We went 8-2 during my placement matches. My KDA was over 10.
My placement: Gold 4
We didn’t even play any golds. We played like 2 platinums.
This is outrageous and for me, de-values any credibility this game’s ranking system had.
To continue, if you win as much as you lose, you will de-rank fast as all hell. You have to win like 75% of your games just to stay where you are. When I was onyx last season, I’d go down as much as 30 points after a loss and on average, go up 5 -10 points after a win. THIS IS A JOKE. Argue that it increases skill gap or whatever, this is just straight up a broken game mechanic and there’s no way around it.
