I’m not disagreeing with you at all… I went 9 - 1 with a 7.2KD in Holiday Doubles tonight and got Diamond 1 and spanked each onyx player I played. THAT is what is broken.

I expect not to be placed against Champion players with 22,000 kills and is a level 96 when I’m 25 and like 2000 kills. Especially in my placement matches.
They had a 1-50 system that worked, all they had to -Yoinking!- do was to use that.
But noooooo.
They need this -Yoink- league system that over ranks people and doesn’t let you de rank, just so the players don’t worry about losing their ranks.
I agree the ranking system is a bit twisted, but it isn’t true that you don’t derank. You do derank within your division, but you won’t derank out of a division completely.

Agreed I posted about this a minute ago. Played all 1 slayer games with my buddy- did markedly better than him in every match. He placed diamond I placed plat 1. Wtf.
lol then I just finished my slayer with a 7W - 3L, 3.3KDA and got placed in Onyx hahaha

That doesn’t matter. If you are a Gold player, but you are placed in Diamond, well then, -Yoink- you, you’re stuck there.
Worst thing thats happened to me in placements, was we got annihilated in a match, then next map loads up, same map, same teams… Wtf.
i think the ranking system was fine when game released, but now, my feelings have changed. i find that if i’m not onyx, i just dont play that playlist anymore as its too hard to get out of every other division by yourself, and you get matched with players of mixed divisions anyways, so it doesnt make sense. this ranking system kills longevity imo.
why couldnt they just use the ‘1500 start’ onyx thing across the board, then try and match people by their number rather than divisions… or still have divisions, but make 1500 score ‘gold’… And you work you way to an onyx from there.
Would be nice if people didn’t foam at the mouth when they complained.

You’ll never get matched with Diamond/Master tier players in league promos, that’s for sure… because no matter how good you are you won’t promo out of Silver.

I think the whole ranking system is quite stupid myself. I can’t stand the whole 10 placement matches where you can be matched against people that are extremely higher or lower skill that ones self. I doubt I’ll even bother with any ranked playlist now that I know everything will reset every season.
I don’t see what was wrong with the simple 1-50 styled ranks where a person starts at 1 and works their way up to their appropriate rank. If 343 was worried about de-rankers, they could have just set the ranks to lock someone in at every 5. Meaning once someone went past 5, you can’t go lower, once you reach 10, you can’t go lower, 15, can’t go lower, etc.
