I played halo CE from the beginning. Played all the halo games and I know what I’m saying.
The multiplayer beta is great and I liked it alot.
But the ranking system is just -Yoinked!- up!!!
The first games I played I just screwed up by looking around a little and discovering the new stuff. Not playing with full attention to winning etc. Then after a game or 6-7 I played much better and more serious because I started to get the hang of it.
After 10 games I suddenly had a bronze 3 rank.
How the -Yoink- did I know that I would be divided to a rank after 10 games played?
So I directly started to play better and with more skill. Was often the best of my team with a 3.0 k/d ratio, but my team lost because it was full of josti’s all the time. But I’m just getting lower in rank!!! Seriously WTF?
So I never get higher in rank if I’m in a bad team all the time? That just does not make any sense. You should be assesed to your individual skill, not to your lame teammate’s. Even in team slayer.
Really hope this will be fixed!
At least your kdr should look nice playing below your alleged skill rank. Don’t stress too much about just continue trying to carry & eventually “should” result in rank ups.
Sooooo what your saying it, because you decided to not play the game and you -Yoinked!- yourself over, the ranking system is messed up? And that you don’t pay attention to news because this type of ranking system was announced long ago? I have a feeling your the problem here.

No he is saying if you loose the game no matter what your KD is you loose rank, and vise versa. I have gotten a KD of 6 in a game, and lost by 1 kill, and still loose like 9 points towards my rank. This is no big deal as it’s the beta, but fix this by time of true release.

So you’re concerned that your TEAM Slayer rank is unjust, due to your individual skill level being higher than your “lame” teammates because you are losing games in a team vs team game, but that’s not your fault at all, it’s the rest of your team.
Yeah you sound like a great teammate to have.
Maybe, just maybe, either find a group of other winners like yourself, or play more with these “lame” teammates (preferably one who uses a headset) and possibly show them the ropes and rank up together?
OK probably I messed it up myself in the beginning. But a least there must be a chance to get yourself higher up again, by playing well, not only by winning…

Your’re right. Team slayer is best to be played with nice teammates and a good friends.

Sorry, I was a bit of a -Yoink-. The ranking system is the way it is because League of Legends and Call of Duty have similar ranking systems, and they seem to work (especially when the player pool is higher). Having nice teammates and good friends to play Team games with makes the game a lot more enjoyable.
More emphasis should be placed on individial stats. Not saying it should all be individual stats, but they should definenlty come into play win or lose. Just like back in the H3 days (the good 'ol days BTW) I’m tired of doing the best out of all players on both teams (by a lot) yet going down in rank.
I worked my way from gold 3 to semipro. I want to reach pro, hopefully I will be able to. Harder to play with random team mates who might be bad though, I guess…
