TBH this is probably just to vent more than anything…but I digress.
So I’ve been playing a lot of Arena and so far I’m a at a low Platinum 2 (borderline 1), the best I’ve been was Platinum 4 (I know I suck, but I’m trying to get better)
Honestly my I’m annoyed by the ranking system for two reasons. idk if they updated it to do this recently or I’ve just had the worst luck ever for 3 weeks!
My first issue is when I was Platinum 4 I’d get games with people of various Platinum ranks with some gold ranks 5 and 6, and rarely Diamond 1’s.
However now when I play it’s like a mix and match of anyone. I’ve been playing mostly with SOME fellow platinums, but mostly it seems to be diamond 2’s and 3’s sometimes an Onyx (I think I even saw a champion once) What happened?! I wanna know, because it’s not fun going against people who are infinitely better than you and you can’t get past 4 or 5 kills (with deaths going through the roof!)
The second issue I have is similar to the first. I don’t usually play slayer but I thought I would (Since arena is seemingly unbalanced)
That said I’m unranked in Slayer, and I was under the impression that when you are awaiting to be ranked you’ll be placed with other unranked people. So far that has not been the case but rather I’m being placed with people of rank platinum 5 & 6 and occasionally Diamond. Is it pairing me with people based on another rank I have (i.e. Arena) because thats what it seems like.
Really I don’t know, maybe the game is placing me with higher ranking players because it thinks I’ll do better. Which, believe me, I’m trying to get at least diamond but the game is basically putting me in a lion cage cause there really isn’t any fun in playing anymore. I liked when I was paired with people one or 3 ranks above or below me, that ranked me up at decent pace that lets me have fun with people who have a similar rank, rather than fighting someone ten times better than me…

I came to the same conclusion. I also happen to face a lot of Onyxes in BTB and WZ and that may be due to the fact that I play a lot of BTB and WZFF (which, I strongly believe, consider somehow your skill level), to the point that I found myself playing classified arena playlist to chill out (= facing people of my same skill level) from the sweatiest BTB matches I’ve ever had.
It needs to be said that as long as there won’t be a party matching system (i.e. for ever), playing WZ and BTB could result in facing a full team of sweaty players and thus no fun - especially if you don’t quit.
I stopped trying to figure out how it works. In SWAT I was gold one before the reset, and it put me into bronze one. I noticed that I was playing against golds and platinums. So now instead of playing to rank up, I play for enjoyment. Now I’m much more relaxed, and doing better.

Long Post - again, this is another rant - and basically the reason why I don’t play for long periods of time anymore.
- who else wants them to fix their party system? - match party vs party. hell it could even be 1+3 vs 1+ 3 (3 being in a party).
- They need a full rank reset every season - no, not place you with the same ranked people as last season in placement matches, but a full reset.
- I think all this stemmed from widening the MM system for onyx/champs so they could find matches faster - this is due to low population in H5. (try finding matches in FFA while onyx/Champ).
- When I’m diamond 1, I want to play against diamond people/ high plat, NOT Onyx, I’m not Onyx FOR A REASON.
4)Please for the love of god, let me rank down. I don’t want to be Diamond after not touching a controller for 2 weeks. I WANT TO PLAY AGAINST PLAT OR LOWER. (i know there’s a hidden Score system that will match me against lower tier players, but from my experience…I would lose 5 games against onyx/diamond players, win ONE against plat, then go back playing against Onyx/Diamond players, that is not fun.) - And yes, I already put my search preference to Focused.
5)This is the main reason why I don’t play this game for long periods of time,I know once I win ONE game (barely), I would probably get matched up against higher tier players. What if the opponents were just having a bad day? What if the opponents just so happen to be able to get into diamond as a team but sucked for the rest of the week soloq.
I really really want to enjoy this game, but holy crap, I know they want to make you have a 50/50 win/loss (to make the games fair), but getting stomped on is not fun. I wouldn’t mind losing 45/50 , 40/50 (borderline). But when you’re 50 - 26, like no.
Inb4 Gielgud. some people just want to play a social game of 4v4 without getting stomped on. Losing is fine, Getting steaked 50% of the time is not. If people are getting steaked 50% of the time = bad match making system. If people are telling me to make a new account with a lower rank = bad match making system, that’s not a solution, it’s a workaround, and that implies there is a problem in the first place.
I’m assuming a good match making system implies matching against people your own skill.
I don’t enjoy WZ, BTB (to each their own) , I enjoy 4v4 games.
I don’t know if they might work but, what if you only matched with players 3 level within your rank?
So Diamond 1 can only match - D1,2,3 & Play 4,5,6, Something along the lines of this.
The only problem I can see with this would be longer search time. But what would you rather have - long search times vs lopsided games?

This matchmaking system makes me feel <>. A lot of times creates unbalanced teams and few times creates just 2 teams of the same skill. I dont know but is it fair a new who started to play against people with high K/D/A and rank. Because that happens a lot right now not only in arena but also in warzone. Even when i use focused search it happens the same 1 team with <<pros>> and the other with noobs. What do you thing?? (sorry for my english)
