I’m here because I’m pissed at the ranking system, why does it rank you on win/loss as a team. I play a game of swat and I can do well in that game but have teammate’s who cant keep up. So we lose and ov’s my rank goes down from platinum 3 to platinum 2. You guys might say that jelly bean you are facing people who are at the same rank as you. These people should be just as skilled as you because they made it into platinum also. But no some of these people are not as good as me, and should not even had made it to platinum because they are getting 1-4 kills and 15 deaths. To me most games are only a 2 man team because the other two players suck. So here’s me trying my best to rank up, but then lose the round because my team wasn’t as good as the other, and here’s me trying my best to win. What the ranking system should be is based on skill, on how good you are, not based on win/loss. I think the best way to rank up is to go into arena with friends who are good at the game or have the same skill level as you, so that you win matches more often. But this was my short rant, of me being pissed from my rank dropping from platinum 2 to 1, then back to platinum 2, then to platinum 3, then back down to platinum 2, then again back down to platinum 1 because my teams where crap/ not good at the game.
There is no doubt the current system doesn’t work and needs lots of work. I can play for hours and not win a game but perform well. I mean obviously there needs to be weighting for people playing in groups of 4 because they will almost always beat a group of 4 solo players. The system just doesn’t work.
One problem is that it resets far too often. The ranking also punishes you too much for winning at times. I will win 2 or 3 games in a row in Diamond and then get matched against Onyx for the next 5 games. I think there should be a private ranking and a team ranking with the team ranking being what decides which league you are placed against.

But this season just as a test I played 10 swat games solo. Win/Loss was 2/10 and my K/D ended up 0.91. Where should a player with that ranking be placed? It put me in Diamond 1. How is that even possible???
I’m going to do a study for a playlist and post the results here. Then probably copy and paste it to another thread so it will get seen. I’m going to keep my stats, my opponents ranks, win/loss, and the score for me getting ranked in breakout. I want to post the results and then see what everyone thinks I should be ranked. Should be interesting nonetheless.

It takes into account your previous season rankings, and who you played against. You can have champions with a .9 K/D if they play champions who are better than them. And it is a team playlist so your performance as a team is ranked. there is no award for being the best loser, so your rank goes down if you lose

I understand how it works which is why I think it’s a broken system. If it’s just going to rank me diamond no matter how many placement games I win then is it really ranking us at all? I went 2-8 in Team Swat games and still got placed in Diamond. As a solo player it’s frustrating to keep getting put in a category to lose all the time.
The system is flawed and plenty of people abuse it. Just play and have fun the rest is just an arbitrary stat that means just about nothing.
Its not possible to get into diamond in a team playlist with randoms… thay just can’t even Halo half of the time.
Randoms screw your game when you go 16 and 4. Then you look at how your team is doing and see them have 1 kill and 17 deaths. FML

A lot of has to to with who you are playing and winning against. The bigger flaw that I have experienced is totally unbalanced teams. I was platinum last month slayer. For the placement matches at least 3 or 4 times I got matches with Gold 1’s and silvers up against high level golds 4s and 5s and platinums. Well of course We would get stomped so Now I’m a gold 3 not that I care much . It will actually be fun , because at least for a while I will be playing against lower ranking players.So I should get some fun easy wins.
What you fail to understand, is that the signs of a skilled player is win/loss ratio. Not a high KD. A high KD but low rank is the sign of a Yoink who I hope I never run across in my games because you will be the reason one of the two teams loses

You don’t lose all the time though, you have a 54% win rate. Its funny how everyone complains about the ranking system, yet when you look at people who have 500 games played or so they’re usually at 50-60% win rates.
People manage to solo their way into Diamond/Onyx regularly, its not impossible. If you’re not Onyx than your teammates aren’t the problem, you just need to keep playing and getting better.
If you’re tired of solo games and having to carry (we’ve all been there), than my advice is to msg people that you’ve had good games with, or against. Eventually your friends list will fill up with solid players and you’ll be able to get into fireteams easier.
Everyone has a bad game i know i have gone 5 - 17 before. You can rank up playing solo but you have to play well consistently and hope your teammates don’t ddo that bad.
