Ranking system being shown anywhere

Is there any info coming soon ?

They’re going to have to talk about it sometime xD
They haven’t said anything about saying anything, if that’s what you mean :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t believe it’s a priority for 343i, and as a result may not even make it into War Games. We’ll see, but if it were to make an appearance in Halo 4, it would have to work very differently from how it functioned in previous Halo installments.

We’ve already seen and heard of a progression system. The only question is whether or not there will be a skill based ranking system.

I doubt that they’d even try to elaborate or discuss the ranking system until a week from the games release. This topic is a kind of a very sensitive one since everyone either gets their flame suits on and others just add gas to their suits.

Frankie confirmed at Eurogamer that we’ll be hearing about the ‘ranked’ ranking system before launch.

There is one, we just don’t know anything about it.

Which is what I meant to specify. A regular ranking system is rather customary in Halo at this point so why shouldn’t it be expected? My statement is in regards to a competitive ranking system that hasn’t been seen since Halo 2 and 3.

In my opinion, a ranking system isn’t needed. All it does is allow people with too much time on their hands play the game too much to get some absurdly high rank. When this happens, you get flamboyant snobs who ruin the game for the normal people who just play the game a couple of days a week like me.

Alright. I’m guessing this ‘ranked’ ranking system will be invisible, because we’ve seen the ranks like “SR-5” and “SR-20” etc., and it would be weird to have two systems. Like, I’m a 50 and a 50.

It’s already been stated that there’s both a Progressive and Skill ranked systems. We just don’t know anything beyond that.

The thing about this regular ranking system though is that it does not denote skill. Sure, they have access to better gear and other perks, but more often than not these players aren’t good. I was just playing Reach the other day, never really played the MP as much as I did Halo 2 and 3, and yet even as a low rank I was able to beat all of the generals and above.

Progression needs to be in there as a way to keep people playing the game. It’s inevitable that those who play more are going to progress through it faster and get the better items. As I said before though, they generally aren’t better and if they believe they are they are fooling themselves.

I consider myself a pretty good Halo player.

sry double post

Exactly. Thats why we need a SKILL-based system as opposed to yet another boring and old exp-based one.

A ranking system is fine, if handled right. It allows people to get matched according to skill and have more even matches, and people have fun seeing the progress they make.

The major debate around here is if it needs to be visible to other people (which it’s been said it isn’t in H4, just to you) to actually be fun. But I’m not sure I want to light that particular match in this particular fireworks store…

This topic is to sensitive. There are to man people that would get upset over the info. 343i would either save this until the last week or just wait until release and let people find out on their own.

All we know is they have been exploring things concerning the ranking structure. Personally, I’m hanging on the balance to actually see if it’s similar to Reach or a heavy adaption of that… here’s to hoping for a brand new structure.

Why not have skill based playlists (not like the arena crap) and social based playlists?

Truth

On other hand 1-50 made the matches a lot more even.
But then again, it made people cheat, buy the 50 or just thought if you were a high rank you could talk out of your -Yoink-.
