Ranking System based on wins rather than personal performance

I just played a game where I went 25/12/5 and had multiple flag returns, but my rank goes down. Why? Because we lost. On the opponents team, some Onyx player went 50/15/4. Now how exactly was I going to carry my team to victory when their avg lifespan was maybe 12 seconds.

The ranking system should be based on personal performance, not whether you win or not. I would have to be insanely good to carry a game like that to victory. Though my rank bar only shifted down a tiny sliver, it is really sad that it should decrease at all. Sure, maybe you can tell me to “get gud” but honestly if I could’ve carried against such a one sided match I’d probably have to go pro.

It’s because they don’t care about solo players.

I have always hated this. I would go 17 and 10 in a slayer match but the last person goes 3 and 10 and we loose a 49 to 49 game because of that 3 and 10 teammate.

Like how Is that my fault? I’ve been told in the past. “Carry harder”. But there’s only so much you can do as one person esspically since you don’t have abilites anymore

Agreed, the current one is stupid if you ask me. Now, I am not against it on a surface level, but its safe to say that it doesn’t factor in people betraying, trolling, going AFK, etc… recently my rank was brought down because one teammate decided to betray me for the flag, an action that costed us the game… yay.

This discourages me from playing ranked. Not because I’m in your shoes. But because a lot of times they game puts me in the shoes of the person going 3 and 10. I know I should try and get better at the game, and I am, but I feel awful making someone rank down, because the game decided that one Platinum III should be enough to carry three gold players against a team of diamond and platinums.

It’s not your fault tho. Your gameplay shouldn’t have any effect on other people’s ranks. Same goes for vise versa. A person shouldn’t be boosted just because they won a match they wouldn’t have by themselves

I agree with you, it shouldn’t be this way. But it is. Hopefully they improve it in the future.

This is exactly how the game is though. I’ve maybe de-ranked twice in the 30 or so ranked games I’ve played.

I go up when I lose because I almost always am a top performer, and when I don’t go up I almost never go down.

I think it’s too lenient. I’ve lost loads trying to carry my friend that has a much lower skill level than me and I never de-rank.

I thought the ranked system worked based on our performance. If not, what use is the existing scoring system that gives us points based on our actions carried out during the game?
