I tend to see that the armor abilities like ground pound or thrust tend to get a lot of hate.
That said I want you to list off the abilities you hate from most to least, or the ones you like the most to the ones you don’t.
From most to least favorite:
- Thrust, Sprint, Slide, and Clamber - makes traversing distances and obstacles much easier than previous titles. - Ground Pound - may be of occasional use, but it’s beastly if used properly. - Smart-Scope - I can live with it. Some weapon sights actually look very nice. - Spartan Charge - Very annoying when used properly, but far too gimmicky for actual use.
Most hated - Sprinting(along with the abilities that come with it like slide and charge): In addition to creating a disconnect between travel and gunplay, it creates a snowball effect that harms so many other aspects of the game.
Clamber: Like sprinting, it creates a disconnect between gameplay elements that used to flow together. Now, we have to pause our gameplay to watch a little animation just to get around.
ground-pound: It’s just idiotic and takes away from the serious tone the games used to carry. “I’m a soldier with plenty of bullets to fire at the enemy, but instead I’m going to fire my body like a -yoink-ing missile because that totally makes sense.”
thrusters: If we absolutely must keep some abilities around for Halo 6, this would be acceptable. That’s not to say I want this to stay. I would be willing to tolerate it though.
Least hated - ADS: It was a totally unnecessary change to bring this into the mix. Of the abilities I’ve listed, the ADS seems to have the smallest impact on the game. I would still like to see it gone though, and the original scope system brought back instead.
