Ranking / Progression System Explained.

Obviously, since we haven’t had a complete run-down of the specifics, (i.e, how Spartan Points work), I can’t tell you exactly how stuff is unlocked, but here’s the rough of it for all of you who are maybe still a little confused.

To start off with, you have 50 levels. As you progress through these 50 levels, you will unlock weapons, armour abilities, tactical packages and support upgrades (armour mods), and probably grenades for use in your personal loadouts, along with armour, armour and weapon skins, and emblems.

Once you reach level 50, you’ll be given the option to re-enlist into one of eight Specialisations.

Each Specialisation is an extension to your rank progression, consisting of ten levels. Leveling up through these ten levels will unlock you additional armour, skins, emblems, along with an armour mod for use in your additional loadout. Once you’ve done the ten levels, you can pick another Specialisation and rank up through that one, until you’ve done all eight.

Basically, Specialisations will allow you to choose your progression and unlock order after level 50. I.e, levels 1 through 50 will have thier unlocks in a specific order, but you can progress through the Specialisations and their unlocks in whatever order you want.

Only two Specialisations will be availiable at launch, unless you have the Limted Edition. What that means is, when the game launchs you’ll be able to level up to fifty and level up through those two Specialisations. But until the remaining Specialisations are unlocked through community milestones, you wont be able to re-enlist in other Specialisations. Basically, you’re capped at level 70 out of 130 unless you buy the Limited Edition.

Hopefully, that clears things up.

Essentially an elaborate credits/exp system. Any word on highskill/real ranked playlists?

two thins
1:specialization not specialisation
2:i hope they release more on spartan point soon but this helped thanks

Two things:
-things not thins
-lol

Thanks for the post, that definitely clears things up for me.

Although I can’t help but think there must have been a more efficient way to create the progression system.

This just seems overly complicated and unnecessary.

I seriously hope there is a good true-skill ranking system. Because this is progression system is the dumbest thing ever.

i don’t have the letter key required to write thins correctly!

There was talk a while ago about a skill ranking system that could only be viewed by you, but I don’t know how true or accurate that is.

As for my spelling, I’m British. We don’t use Zs like in American English.

> two thins
> 1:specialization not specialisation

Specialisation is the British English way of spelling it. Why it needs a z is beyond me.

Anyway, back on topic. To me, this seems like an extension of the credit system Reach has…I sincerely hope you can’t just grind through the ranks given enough time.

Great info OP. Thanks for the clarification.

I believe 343 mentioned that the competitive aspect of this game will not be ignored and the matchmaking will take this into account i.e. putting better players in games vs one another and expanding hugely on the arena - which was a good idea of handing out bronze, silver, gold or onyx rankings to people depending on various metrics.

It’s obvious you are a non-British grammar -Yoink!-.

Its so stupid how they reward people just because they have more money.

The definition of a “fan” is becoming so stupid these days.

Nice job.

For future reference, please don’t refer to silly progression systems as “ranking systems.” This will hopefully avoid confusion.

You wont have anything that makes a difference in the long run.

> I seriously hope there is a good true-skill ranking system. Because this is progression system is the dumbest thing ever.

Typical. Care to explain why you think that?

As of now, thats all we know.

But really, thats half of the entire “ranking system stuff”.

There is also said to be a separate skill-based rank. Its not 1-50 or Arena, no other details except that. They were testing a kind of a compromised hidden ranking system. We’ll have info on that eventually, I’m sure.

So Halo 4 will have a Prestige system.
