Though leveling up to a higher level has always been a constant for online shooters, what you get when you level up gives you incentive to keep playing. I like the new Spartan Rank or SR ranking system because it is faster than Reach’s ranking system. Though it maybe faster I don’t really feel any accomplishment when getting an SR over getting an actual military ranking like sgt, captain, Brigadier grade 2, etc. I thought Spartan’s were part of the UNSC military, so shouldn’t they have ACTUAL MILITARY RANKS? What do you guys think?
War Games is treated like a training simulation “video-game” onboard the UNSC Infinity, so I think it kind of does make sense for the Spartan-IV’s to go with numbered level-ranks.
Outside of the Infinity though, they probably progress in rank through different means, not just by running through the War Games simulations. So while they use actual military ranks, I assume they just use SR in War Games.
I personally prefer the progression system in Halo 4 more than Reach. Reach was just time-consuming. In Halo 4, you level up a lot faster and Commendations actually mean something, and unlock you lots of goodies. Not saying I don’t miss CSR, though.

that makes sense however I do see the OPs point of view as i too miss proper military ranks.
I think they should also raise the cap and then instead of SR have like a named military rank.
