To avoid any confusion, I’ll start off by saying I love all the Halo games and am extremely excited for Halo 4. It looks amazing!
However, like everything in this world, there’s always something that I either don’t like or don’t understand. In this case, it’s the experience system. Why the change from the 1-50 type system? It seems we’ve gone from showing the players skill to showing how long the person has played for.
Without the ability to go down ranks, I feel as if there’s no point in going up the ranks. I played hours of both Halo 2 and Halo 3 reaching the highest rank possible and I got a feeling of satisfaction from it. Yet with Reach, I barely even bother to check how close I am to the next level, it just seems irrelevant.
That’s my thoughts anyway, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m competitive by nature so this system may be more favourable for people who play casually? I’m not sure, that’s why I’ve come here. Let’s get a discussion going!
Tell me your thoughts on the ranking system (Includes Reach because the system seems similar)
…and do your best to respect everyones opinion.
