There is no reason I am playing super good teams over and over again, and all my teammates cannot keep up.
I have lost every game tonight and doing 90% of the backpacking.
There is no reason I should be having teammates going 2 and 17. There is no excuse. We need this fixed. There has to be a better way to rank people to keep things even. I cannot just cerry carry carry carry carry all night. I don’t want to and I don’t want to have to. Derank derank derank derank. It’s a lot of fun just having my rank tank because my teammates aren’t on. I shouldn’t have to play 4’s to win games. There needs to be a complete overhaul of the ranking system.
tbh, it should kinda be like that. what matters is if you feel like you could have won if you played a bit better. however there are too many matches where theres no chance.
Your K-D for the ten games was; -1, +1, -1, +4, -7, +7, -3, +11, -4, and -1.
And obviously that’s a poor metric for objective games… but it suggests you were probably evenly matched against the opposition.
But you can’t control for team-mates.
Luckily you were able to follow up with a ten game winning streak.
No, you shouldn’t. Although you will likely rank a bit higher if you did.
I’m assuming it’s the lower population that’s causing people to fluctuate a bit on the W/L. Having runs of hard or easy games. Coming up against squads a bit more often than you normally would. Generally making it harder for the match making to smooth things out.
But Menke once mentioned that people can vary in day to day form by plus or minus 150 points. Maybe you just had one of those days were things weren’t gelling?
It’s ranked? In this context you should be 50% W/L.
It’s like the literal definition of your rank. A Diamond 4, for example, is defined as someone who has a 50% chance vs opponents ranked Diamond 4.
And of course you should be given some harder and some softer opponents to give the ranking a chance to breathe… but you would also be expected to win and lose those respectively.
The system isn’t screwing you over on the next game. It’s your skill ceiling.
In fairness I’ve been having games were I legitimately can’t get a kill even after head shooting them twice with no shields. I went 0-13 yesterday vs guys who weren’t even that good before getting a kill. I don’t really blame people for having bad matches because everything about getting in a 1v1 feels insanely rng
1:/People who have previously ranked up because of their teammates being below average team CSR values have been over ranked and are now being matched with you.
2:/ People are leaving the game, so your pool of equal players is shrinking. If you’re losing match after match I’d be willing to bet there are some familiar names showing up. Maybe they’re teaming with a low diamon. Maybe you’re teaming with a higher onyx. These things skew team CSR.
It’s only going to get worse as they tighten the restrictions on entering the arena playlist. less people will be able to play with the usual teammates, drop in solo, oh look they’re over ranked. They stop playing. Meanwhile your numbers get “tighter” and your matches get more “fair”. Therefore you lose more matches.
Think about it - why are you onyx in crossplay and not solo/duos? It’s probably because it’s harder to skew team CSR with two people on your team. Not an attack at you - this goes for the enemy team too.
So yeah - I wasn’t happy with the recent changes because I play with my wife (gold), friend (gold) and friend (high plat) and I cheesed to onyx because the teams were easier. That’s why my kd is high. That’s why I over ranked and why they under ranked. But we enjoyed playing it despite the disparity from the normal skill:rank ratio. They needed to fix it. Absolutely. But they haven’t fixed it - they’ve just made it more niche. That’s not good for matchmaking. That’s not good for fun. That’s not good for anyone. What they need to do is match teams based on individual player skill levels - and reset the ranks too,

Because I cannot play a 4 man team by myself. Halo is a team based game. If I’m calling out spawns at yellow fridge and nobody else is looking there wtf? lol like what am I supposed to do?
Reason I’m in onyx in Cross is because I have teammates who actually know how to play the game. lol But when I’m not running 4s, I’m forced to solo duo, where kids are eating cheetos and drinking paste.
And the 50/50 rank think is just dumb. Has no reason to be there. I shouldn’t be punished with bad players for doing good a few games before
Sadly, I have given up hope with ranked. I just que up in a mindless state with Breaking Benjamin blaring in my ear trying to relive the glory days of grinding to 50 or champ with friends. The best callout I can give is guitar mouth sounds.
This is the biggest issue for me since it makes up what feel like around 60-70% of my matches right now and if not that then I’m facing off against unranked people then when I win I get no or very minimal rank gain even if I’m MVP by a mile but if I lose then I lose quarter or third of a rank no matter how I play.
