Ranked mode desperately needs region selection in matchmaking

What is the point of playing ranked modes if the matchmaking places you on servers based in the other regions which give you above 100ms ping?

I am based in the United Kingdom and I now get constantly placed on the US servers where I have a high ping, and I get to play against Americans with low pings.

What is the point of ranked mode and rankings if European and Australian players (amongst others) are forced to play with high pings which put them into considerable disadvantage?

If the counter-argument is that the global matchmaking is supposed to speed up the matchmaking, I would say this is making matchmaking harder because more European and Australian players are quitting because they don’t get to experience the game on their local servers.

This is one of many issues that needs to be addressed.

Same here. Italian and experience a lot connection issues in ranked. Would like to have the option to fix the region.
A question aside. Im playing on XBox Series X. How can i check ping / latency of a match?

Agreed. This is actually why I decided to uninstall the game today. Can’t handle the bad connection from the UK any more.

If it helps, and if you have an Xbox One like myself, my friend says he has a far better experience with an Xbox Series X.

That said, I also think he has found a way to just have EU servers.

Oh well

You can enable ping display in the game settings, it might be called network statistics or something similar.

I am on Series X, and it makes no difference. You are placed on US servers like everyone else in your region.

I think your friend has blocked US server IPs in his internet router.
