I think we’d all be willing to wait a little longer between matches is the teams were balanced. It’s not at all right now and it’s very frustrating.

Previously we had options to choose for balance vs wait. Hopefully they come back.
But at least take comfort that your the team MMR is taken into account for your result. Lose to a higher ranking team and you lose less rank. Beat them however and it’s an early Xmas!

I was with a group of friends. I’m diamond 1, my friends; platinum 2 and 3 and one unranked.
We matched against two diamond 1, one diamond 2, and one diamond 4.
Ranked - oddball.

if you que as a group like that you cant expect to get matched mirrored.
The matchmaking system should work similar to Rocket League. If you are grouped the highest rank in your group is what everyone in your group gets put into the que as. This way, you prevent boosting by matching by average rating.

A lot of the ranking is based off of MMR tbh which sucks IMO. It’s likely that the plat player was as good as a high diamond player and is on his way there

im not saying thats how the current system works, im saying thats how it SHOULD be. currently it takes the average CSR and tries to match you accordingly.
Well I had one match with a bronze on our team for some reason and he couldn’t even figure out which team to shoot. Went 0-20. I hope that he was pulled in by being in a fire team with someone or else the algorithm is really messed up.

As good as TrueSkill is - it still takes nearly 50 games to get to peak confidence in your ranking. In most cases it can ball park you in a handful of games… but I imagine the mix of objective games slows it down.

You are ‘ranked up’ if you are a squad. I don’t know by how much… but it’s worth keeping in mind that your squad may end up being ‘matched’ against a group of higher ranked individuals.
It’s based on hidden MMR so likely the Diamond players are seen like Onyx players, they just haven’t won/played enough to get there yet.
Pretty sure max you can rank off placements is Diamond 1.

Nah the plat players were really plat players and the unranked probably a silver tbh. We did win a game prior to that one with another similar skilled team idk if that had something to do with the later discrepancy.

And if you think your matches were skewed, try 1 Onyx, 2 Diamonds, and 1 Plat vs 1 Diamond, 2 Platinums and 1 Gold. Lol. Worst part is when we beat them we got less than a 10% rank boost, we got more for steamrolling a lower level 3 person team.

There’s a lot off with Ranked.
It’s honestly the game mode that needs some TLC.
That actually seems pretty fair lol. Both have 3 diamonds.
The rank doesn’t matter in my experience. It’s matches you up with players with similar MMR. I have been playing Onyx players since I was originally placed in Plat 6. Week later in Onyx.
Welp I just had a match where all my teammates were platinum and all the other team was diamond save one unranked person. Ugh. 
Ranks don’t matter. Will match up against players the system thinks are similar MMR
