Ranked matches are very unbalanced?

I only just got back into playing ranked a few days ago, but the matches seem very unbalanced based on player ranks. I’m only Plat 5 :’( but consistently having to play against full onyx teams or onyx-diamond teams. I don’t mind playing people with this much of a skill gap every now and then, but when it’s nearly every game it feels vary unbalanced. It doesn’t seem to cause me to lose any rank progress when I lose the match, but it’s not enjoyable at all being consistently several ranks below the rest of the lobby, and it doesn’t seem fair on the onyx player on my team having to try and carry.

Also had a match with bronze and silver teammates vs an onyx team. Matches have just felt very unbalanced in terms of player ranks in general. Surely this isn’t an intentional choice by 343 to create such unbalanced ranked games? It’s happening quite consistently yet it seems like a bug unless I’m missing something…

To no one’s surprise, when 343 changed matchmaking to increase the ping priority they destroyed balanced matches. It was always a problem with their garbage MMR system but now it is every game. You are either destroying the other team or getting destroyed.

Also, to no one’s surprise, 343 has not addressed or even acknowledged the issue.

Don’t you worry though, BTB fixes are ongoing!

Surely this will be addressed in next Tuesdays update? I guess find out soon enough but it’s going to take a few days/weeks at least for most players to do their placement games again and the data settle down.
