Ranked is not fun

Because every game I experience broken desync, messed up melee K.O’s from the front due to barely any collision with enemies, (yes, I’ve been assassinated from the front at full health), or I start a game 3v4.

I’m not the greatest player ever but I can’t be the only one experiencing this crap. Almost every game I die from something gameplay related, and when every death hurts your rank up it leaves me mildly irritated.

I love Halo but it sucks getting shot behind walls and always second guessing if someone seems exceptionally well is hacking or not.

We need a proper way to report, we need anti cheat. We need a more stable network.

It also wouldn’t hurt to increase the player collision size of enemy combatants, or make it more consistent.

A population count per playlist might be good as well.

Maybe I’m lucky because I die so much.

The occasional glitchy death is just a drop in the ocean of my own mistakes.

And I’m happy just to ride it off. -Yoink- (server issues) happens.

And while it does happen… it’s not often the result of the match (and my rank) pivot on it.

Besides… I’m sure I get a few kills out it myself.

I’m trying to improve my game so I can maybe hit Onyx, I think I can manage that with persistence but I’m noticing the desync is really hurting my efforts.

Often getting shot at the millisecond my head pops out, or shot through solid objects as I move.

Out of curiosity what is your ping in most of your games? I’m always playing with 60-80 unfortunately.

Desync is a pain in close quarters and with melee, without a doubt. It’s very common to phase through people, miss melees that should land, get/not get lunges, etc. There’s some definite RNG at close quarters right now which is frustrating, but hopefully that improves over time.

The 3v4s are a true pain, but they don’t happen to me that often. Desync occasionally results in dying after you got behind cover and that’s annoying. But a lot of it comes out in the wash since it’s happening to all of us unless someone has particularly awful ping/desync, which it sounds like maybe you do.

I’m Onyx and play with an Onyx/Diamond group of friends, and we all still have to deal with it.
