Ranked is awful

I feel like ranked is alright except for the fact that you have a option to choose two to three different ranks (open with crossplay, Solo/duo with either a controller or mouse and keyboard which they are seperated by rank of course) everytime I go into ranked I always get objective and its rare that I get slayer why can’t they just seperate them like thay did back in the good old days when halo was goodm this is by far the most fun I have had with halo since halo 3 but then mcc came out and they ruined halo 3 with everything and I gave up on halo and yeah I know someone is gonna say " well hey man this is just a beta calm down" well you know what why don’t you go look at all the other threads and see what their complaining about Im starting to love halo all over again just like I did when I was growing up after comming home from school and playing with my friends and all that! at least consider seperating them and adding swat to the mix. some of the challenges are still a little buggy as well like the daily challenge just want to put that out there real quick tell me what you guys think am I being a debby downer or not?

ctf is so god dam boring in ranked, remove it , same as camping corners with the skull, 0 skill

This is a team mate failure 100%

Me personally can do well but my team drops the ball everytime… they never go fir thr obj and just… suck :-/

Ranked is not designed for you to climb up and up and up unless you are actually getting better. That’s the whole point of ranked. Soooo many people complain about this even in previous Halo games. The rank system is skill based, not time based, and it’s “graded on a curve”. Even if every single player was actually as good as a pro Halo player there would still be people sitting at bronze and silver because that’s how grading on a curve works. Face it. There are millions of players. If the rank system actually works correctly, only a small percentage of them will be diamond, and an even tinier percentage will be onyx or champion. You are probably not good enough to be among them.

I’m currently almost Platinum III. I think I may be able to get to Diamond I or II, especially when the full game launches and more players start playing. But as time wears on and casual players lose interest in the game, I will probably be stuck at around Platinum I, because that is where I probably belong.

Halo 5 was the same way for me. Early in its life cycle, I was able to get to Diamond II, but now days it’s a struggle for me to reach Platinum VI and I often will drop back down to Platinum I or II if I keep trying to push for Diamond and lose as I play the against better players.

I am usually playing with friends but regardless if I am solo queue or stacked I see a lot of problems.

  • No Rejoin (seriously 343?)

  • No one communicates or whats to support each other. It feels like my teammates just zone out and go wherever they feel like. They see you fighting 2 people and just keep on moving the opposite way completely unaware of what’s going on.

  • The fact you can’t choose which game mode really hurts when a lotta people just wanna play slayer

  • Balancing is trash. I am almost onyx (haven’t played many games after placements but I will prob get it Sun or Mon). 1 person on each team will be 20+ frags, the bottom 2 will have a combined 10 frags. It’s almost EVERY game that’s like that. I don’t know about lower ranks but Diamond 1 and up is just weird. Games are rarely close too.

If you are placed in Gold in the first place it means you have a lot of room for improvement. To put this into perspective, one of my friends got into Gold and that dude is far from pro lol.

Don’t want to just make assumptions but I’ve seen lots of threads or just general talk where someone thinks they are carrying but in reality they do almost nothing. So they’ll have most kills in an objective gametype and thinks they’re gods… Like that useful but playing objective is almost always the #1 most important thing in every game. Even in Slayer if you don’t play for weapons you will ultimately lose.

Overall though if you are playing solo go into solo queue, open is meant for 4 stacks obviously.

people are assuming I hit my cap on skill, I’m already up to platinum 2 now. The matchmaker is feeling a little better but the other day I genuinely feel like I hit a bug in matchmaking or something intended but resulted in some wonky effects. It’s been a lot less miserable which is good since I feel completely outmatched outside of close range against pc players in quick play and btb. I probably had my first enjoyable evening of halo infinite tonight so that’s good. Edit: I wouldn’t say that enjoyable though since my winrate was somewhere around 30% which isn’t fun but the matches were a bit closer.

Oh so you think that Gold 3 or 4 (something like that) is a difficult hill to climb? Interesting. One common trait for ranking systems is that the ranks just below the final tier (so Diamond 5 or 6 for example) is often more difficult than the final tier itself is, this is because those players are hungry whereas established players are more chill.

no but you’re clearly ignoring what I said previously

ive been playing solo in open queue. i have no problem winning matches. as long as i perform well i dont rank down either. i like this system. currently mid plat. id say im winning 70% of my matches

My problem with that is when I perform well and lose. For, example, when I was gold I got around a 1.5 or 2.0 k/d while also having the most objective points on my team and saw no improvement in rank while doing all of that against a team of plat 2s and 3s. That’s half the pain of ranked for me right now is I seem to be constantly matching against teams with higher ranks than me, and when I perform better than my rank indicates I lose and make no progress.
