Ranked Getting Punished for Other Player on Your Team Getting Disconnected/ Leaving

When a player on your team gets disconnected/leaves, the remaining players should not be punished when they inevitably lose the match for being down one or more players. They should not lose their ranking from that match.

Suggestion:

  • Disable subtracting ranking points for the team that is now down a player (or more) when they lose that match.
  • Allow players to join game in progress where that player will also not receive any negative points for losing a match that was already in progress.

Why shouldn’t you be lose credits? Your team lost. Rankings would be meaningless if all of a sudden losses “didn’t count”. Everyone might as well be high tier oynx’s then at this point since it’d be so easy to abuse.

If your relying on the matchmaker to pick teammates for you, you’re automatically accepting the teammates the matchmaker picks for you. You could have easily found reliable teammates to play with yourself, but choose not you. This is what is known as consequences for actions.

The only thing that could be considered is maybe if a teammate never gets into the game and it starts as 3 vs 4. Maybe… and that’s only at the digression of 343i. If the match has started and a teammate decides to dip, it’s now up to you and your remaining teammates to have to pick up the slack.

If you want more reliable teammates, your going to have to pick them out yourself. Either in game, in real life, or start making posts on forums/discords/communities.

You lost because you are now at a severe disadvantage: the teams are now unequal and It is no longer a balanced match. Okay, so here is one simple solution: only the player who joins in progress will not lose rank points if the team loses, and if the player who joins is the same player who left, then they will lose credits if the team lost. This will ensure that you always have an equal opportunity at a fair match. Not everyone is skilled enough to carry a match when they are down players.

Reliability in your teammates has nothing to do with crashing to desktop, or losing internet.

Again, reliability in your teammates has nothing to do with crashing to desktop, or losing internet.

Ranked is suppose to be more comparable to competitive in terms of meaning. Do competitives lose less, or don’t count matches when someone is removed from the game for any reason? The best I’ve ever seen them do is pause the match for a minute or two to see if they can get them to rejoin, other wise they’ll either have to learn to deal with it and try to win or call it a game.

You can actually find reliable teammates that have set ups that won’t crash at all too. If someone is having technically issues one day, request that they try and fix their rig before hand or replace them with another teammate for the time being that isn’t having technically issues and keep playing. This is how you find a reliable teammate in this situation.

Man, it’s getting sooo boring. Stop coming up with such a BS solution to an existing problem. “Oh, you hate beeing poor? Then get rich, it’s easy.”

343 could almost completely eliminate the quitting problem but chose not to and rely on their ineffective banning system.

Understand what’s the problem and don’t come up with “don’t rely on the matchmaking system” everytime you here the word “ranked”. -.-

I would stop if people would actually heed my advice and try to find a solution for themselves instead of relying on a company to find one for them. There’s a very big reason why people that solo queue hate being matched up against an enemy team that is a in a party, and why professional players themselves pick their teammates instead of relying on something to pick their teammates for them. Because they want to win matches, and in most cases, have fun while playing, since people you know are generally just more fun to play with.

I know it’s a broken record to some, but it’s still the best solution by quite a large margin. People that want 343i to just, fix the problem for them, I can almost guarantee you will never be satisfied no matter what 343i does. Also making suggestions such as having matches not count completely devalues the whole point of ranked in the first place.

I’ll happily stop making these responces, when people stop making these topics.

Played 2 games today. First game, one guy dropped out very early on. The rest of us stuck around, lost obviously & dropped -9 points in rank.

Said| “eh that wont happen again” so i played another, this time STARTED with only 3 vs 4. Lost another -9 rank points.

Said screw this and im done for the day. It’s not right.
