As of right now with ranked in master chief collection I don’t care anymore a have a really good game were its ends up us winning 50-47 rank up and then the next game we start 3vs4 and then the rest of my team quit and it still deranks me (I understand not everyone likes the challenge of 3vs4 but might as well try).
With halo in a couple of months and quitting on the rise I think it’s time that the devs become a lot more strict with player during ranked games, 5 minutes + every 5 more minutes for each ranked game quit within 24 hours imo. You give these people the freedom to quit by not letting us play with them anymore, why not teach them with these time outs instead of segregating them to other quitters (or what ever it is you’re doing currently because clearly it isn’t working). “but this won’t do anything”, then the devs need to be even stricter if it doesn’t improve, “but they’ll just move onto x game” did you really want them here in the first place if they are going to keep quitting regardless of punishment?
It really is boring playing 1vs4 or playing 4vs1 and kills the game off for me as I’m sure it does for most people. People need to learn to deal with tough games and learn from them not rage quit because it’s to hard. I’ve had my few rage quits in the past but I learn’t my ways as the dev need to make the rest of the quitters understand. Even in big team I’m upset with how seriously these rage quitters take game
I will support mcc and halo 5 till they day I die but there is only so much I can take before it become boring and not fun anymore, please at least take this with many other posts regarding quitting into account.
agreed, my fave penalty system was either 3 or reach. In 3 if I remember right if you want to leave a game it says ‘i will fight with honor’ and ‘i am a quitter, penalise me’ and reach was betrayal booting at its finest… I personally agree with betrayal as I use the example, all your team are in a room, all enemies are in the same room, you have rockets and your sniper… Play out the situation with betrayals on and off and see what I mean about betrayals being necessary, but ranked penalties are a different thing. Your idea is good but what I would do is make it so if they leave, they cant join a game untill the game they left is over OR they can rejoin/spectate the game they left.
They should just implement the CS:GO feature where if someone quits, they get a 30 minute Competitive/ranked match time-out because they quit out of the (ranked) match.

I was also thinking about the rejoin feature but I feel people would abuse it e.g tdm winning by 10 kills have all the team except 1 player (that player hides), then rejoin near the end of the game. Though having them not allowed to join another game till the current one is finished would be good to, but I feel it wouldn’t be strict enough (depends as to what time is left in the game/ different game modes will go faster)
