yeah id remove ranked challanges
I don’t think they should remove ranked challenges, but making it less “compulsory” for Ultimate Challenge will definitely keep the reward-chasers out of Ranked for the benefit of people who actually are serious about climbing.

I don’t necessarily think ranked should be in challenges, at least not with a win condition.
My favorite challenges so far have been get x cumulative score in x playlist. I think the ultimate challenges should be something like this where the score is really high for a particular playlist (not mode).
All in all the challenges have gotten a lot better, still needs tweaking though. Once they add a progression system outside of BP based on score/XP then it will be mint IMO.

Well Ranked isn’t really a big deal if you don’t care about your Rank. It’s not tougher than any other mode.
Secondly, this week has had more Ranked related challenges due to HCS as a sort of mini event. Next week should have less.
I’ve seen people saying this, but is there any evidence or are we just assuming this? The main thing I’d like to see regarding ranked challenges is to see swaps work on them correctly. Even if we see less of them next week there’s no guarantee swaps will work on them.
Well the other problem is this also makes ranked games horrible for players because people will quit if they don’t get their challenge things…
Ranked challenges shouldn’t be a thing. Its simply not the environment for Challenges where everyone suffers; you have the challenge-chasers who are only doing this for challenges so have few compunctions with quitting a game if they don’t get the map/mode and ruining it for everyone which has happened a couple times for me already and, even if they do stay, they may try to get other Challenges while getting their Ranked CTF wins by getting kills with other weapons and luring them to a playstyle that is detrimental to the team. Obviously in Social playlists (especially BTB) the calmer, relaxed atmosphere lets you get away with it, but Ranked? Hoo boy.
There’s also usually Social-focused players now being forced to go into the competitive, sweaty environment of Ranked where I’ve already had plenty of foul-mouthers with mics or someone who has to constantly type “garbage” in the chat every time he dies when referring to his team. Being one of those Social-users who used to play Ranked in the Halo 3 days when Rank 50 was a big deal and later swore off playing it ever again, I can’t say I’m thrilled to be getting forced back into it against my will.
Ranked and Social are separated for a reason with people who want to do one or the other having clearly-defined reasons (to be competitive or not competitive) so having Challenges that is forcing these two spaces to cross together is just a terrible idea all around.

There is a way to see what game-type you’re loading into; check the Social menu with the View button after the bar at the bottom of the screen turns blue and loads the mode; you can also cancel the join-in-progress on the Social screen by pressing X before the other players load into the game.
I agree but for a different reason.
I actually like ranked but a big problem for me is that as of a few days ago I can’t find a ranked game, probably because of a lack of players in my region.
It doesn’t matter how long I wait, I won’t get a game and it’s the final challenge of the week (get 5 ranked wins).
I’ve completed every other challenge this season (and some were painfully frustrating) but this is completely out of my control and is a hell that only other completionists can understand.
