343 should make btb a solo queue playlist so there’s a fair chance for both teams. If this does not happen players will just get farmed in this playlist.
Ranked BTB population is definitely not going to be high and splitting the population in half would absolutely ruin the playlist. I’d rather find unfair matches then not find matches at all.
There’s a 4 minute time limit of searching while on Focused before you’ll match a stacked full party, but not sure if it applies to parties of less than 8.
I think that it is stupid that they did this and where is snipers it on all other halos. They should just let you have more than 6-7 game types. All they need to do is keep aleast 7 consistent game types and 1 special feature on both social and ranked that get charges every season. My opinion off this game keeps going down, thanks 343
Haven’t seen any unbalanced teams yet but I think I came close to some, I’ve been in some match’s where the team I was in seemed outmatched against the opposing team, had to turn the match around. I noticed the unbalanced issues are generally more common in modes like Warzone so maybe I haven’t played enough of BTB ranked to notice the issues yet.
All I know is my general season ‘rank’ hasn’t moved in years due to lack of interest in getting my rank up by playing 10 match’s but recently got my general season rank up a lot because I decided to play it due to BTB ranked returning and have noticed I’ve got a lot better since it was originally ranked before they took it down years ago.
Though I suspect my rank would have been a lot lower if I had matched with unbalanced teams but I don’t think I’ll continue playing it in ranked since sounds like it could get too stressful in the long term.

My second game in it was a Slayer 100 - 20 loss or something like that. The main issue is when full parties play it, but as I said earlier there’s a 4 minute delay before you match them although you might be searching forever if there’s a low population and you search again at the 4 minute mark.

I am seeing a lot of people with win percentages in either the 90s or the teens, nothing in between yet.

All the 4 minute limit is (under the Focused preference), is that it ensures the search parameters will expand naturally until it reaches 9:1 odds; though, once it reaches that max there is the potential (per my understanding) that you could get put into a match with odds beyond 9:1. This is due to stacked teams searching for more than 4 minutes themselves at which point the matchmaker is looking to simply find them a match. Once beyond 4 minutes it seems like the search parameters practically disappear. Perhaps, Josh can further clarify if some type of max parameters actually remain, but when reading his comments regarding this topic previously it didn’t seem like there was.
Under the Balanced and Expanded preferences there is no safe expansion period. The parameter expansion rate will go as normal, but at any time during a search you could potentially get put into a match with max odds or beyond since there could be a group that’s been searching for more than 4 minutes at which point the matchmaker is simply trying to find them a match regardless to match odds. Personally, I hope that the Balanced preference receives a safe period that’s at least half the amount (aka 2 minutes) of the Focused preference.
I Havnt run into any teams statting in btb in a very long time. Not sure it will be a big problem
I pretty much only play BTB and WZ. Tried the ranked BTB and it was an unbalanced nightmare–why do this? I guess I’ll just play WZ now when I’m bored. But following this trend, they’ll be nothing good left to play.

Try BTB super fiesta…most teams seem to be in ranked btb now so fiesta is pretty fun, played a lot of it tonight
My biggest gripe with ranked btb is the lack of join in progress. Someone always quits every match, and without JIP continuous quitting really cripples the team. My first 2 matches have ended in lopsided victories.
Right now the ranking seems to be frozen or glitched. Everyone I see (myself included) is either still qualifying or diamond 3. I only see those two variants.
Also win or lose my rank (diamond 3) doesn’t change at all.

As a solo player, this has probably been one of the worst experiences I’ve had in BTB. It reminds me of the days before they implemented matching restrictions.

I personally have not touched this game mode cause btb was great but sweating in btb just sounds terrible
I have a problem with ranked BTB. I regularly have under-performing players in my teams who start to betray me and my teammates. After to real betrayals that can be kicked but most of the time they know that and start weakening you and kill you after an enemy already weakened yourself.
This happens sometimes, shure. But right now I have somebody like this within my team in one of three matches.
Idk I’ve been having some pretty good fun in ranked btb while only solo-queing.
