I really don’t understand the ranking system… It is September now. So I grind arena hoping for at least a diamond or onyx rank. Okay. I won 7 games out of 10 one game two people quit. Had alot of assault captures. Flag caps. Defends. Moderate kDa 2.0 okay not highest but I totally played objective. What rank I get for 7wins and 1st on team 7x 5th 3 times as was best on team but lost. Platinum. Not even a diamond.
I’ve read alot on how ranking might work but as a platnuim/diamond player soloing for higher rank seems impossible. I purely want a higher rank in hopes maybe less diamond/onyx players will leave or play bad and maybe I can meet half decent players like myself.
My beef is what does a guy got to do to earn what he feels he earned. I’m sure a lot of you might be saying same thing. I never quit. I always call out. 90℅ of games I’m only one with mic.
If anyone else has this experience please post I’d like to read. Because every month I play better and better and still sit in same class and play customs with onyx ranks and destroy them. Wtf…
The ranking system has mystified me as well. In all previous seasons besides August, I ranked Plat in Slayer and Arena. In August I placed ONYX and Diamond in those playlists. I’ve never placed that high besides SWAT and Breakout so I was pretty confused by that because I lost 5/10 games in Arena where I placed Onyx I believe. I have yet to place this season but, I’m guessing I’ll be placed in my usual rank of mid-high platinum. Because of the -Yoink- matching and ranking system, I just place and then do social in Arena.
I even switched to my other account and won 6 out of 10 and had a 11.7 kDa for those 10 games in arena and… Gold level 4… So my main I get platinum my other I get gold…
Lots of people smurfing it seems like… I played a lot of Diamond+ caliber players in Slayer that were ranked low Gold or Platinum tier and ended up placing Plat 6… I’ve been consistently Onyx the last several seasons.
And of course, running a party of 2, our other 2 rando’s were seldom any good… meanwhile the other team is like a stacked team of smurfs. Seems like all I played were Golds and Platinums so really, win or lose, how am I supposed to rank any better?
In your first season you can’t get higher than platinum anymore, and then the next season really depends a lot on where you were the previous season. You need to play more than 10 games in a season and grind your way up to Onyx, then the next season you might get placed there.
To confirm in this I’ve match makes mostly platnuim and diamond some onyx. Occasionally gold. On my other account I matched same. Won 9 of 10 qualifying games. 11.7 kDa. Ranked platinum.
I get they rank according to whom you play against but when I play better than most diamonds its not my choice if they keep pairing me during qualifications with that.
Just want higher rank to play with my level and better my self. Can’t get better playing scrubs.

I agree I noticed this with new accounts. But my main I’ve ranked diamond few times soloing don’t got many friends online. And I ranked gold this season and I felt I played better this month than last and I got higher rank last month

If you’re really diamond and you got ranked gold enjoy your time going +10 every game.
