I think the system rank should be more about your skill than the number of matches that you win or lose, some one can do poorly in a match, his team wins and he gets rewarded while some one does incredible well, his team losses and he gets punished. How is that fair or competitive ?, and it doesn’t helps that I keep getting match with bad people
Well to me this is new although a buddy of mine told me halo had this before. Regardless its kinda cool
There have been a decent amount of post about this. So hopefully they change it a little bit at some point.
Having it based solely on winning is a drag.
True, but what about the person that plays defense and does not score a lot of points but is critical to helping get then win?
Playing devils advocate
its really difficult to decide what things count
I thought the ranking system was also based on how well you do in a match? Like even if your team lost but you did well in that match you’ll barely lose any ranking points if any at all.
i totaly agree make a poll so 343 can see it
But arena revolves around playing with your mates, so you all feed off each other and if you win or lose as a team. if you go solo and have a bad player on your team then you cant complain.
Your placement games take KDA into account but once You’re in a bracket it’s all wins. The advantage of prioritising win/loss is that it stops people ignoring the objective and stat padding to get their rank up.
If you can’t win games you’re not a good player and if you’re playing alone but putting up bug numbers you can’t complain. In Team games you need to get yourself a team, that’s the idea.
Before reading this post, I wasn’t even sure how it even honestly worked. I agree though. That would seem more reasonable.

“how is that competitive” You have to understand this is a team-oriented game. So, lets look at the most popular and successful competitive team-oriented game ever: league of legends. They use the same ranking system. It works.
i dont understand the question.
How often are they resetting ranks?
Needs to be based entirely on winning.
If you want to play a ranked mode where your personal score is what gets you ranked up then play Free For All. I hate people who complain about being ranked as a team in team games. Get some friends and go into the Arena. Don’t whine because you lose. Winning should be the ultimate goal anyway not a good K/D.
Does anyone know how many arena wins are necessary to work our way up through the ranks? I’m a casual player so I’m in no rush but would be nice to have an idea.

It’s hard to say because some tiers only took me 2 or 3 consecutive wins while others took 5 or 6. Losses seem to affect 1.5x what a win would so it seems like guess work…maybe if they had a progress bar
