I had just finished a game of team arena, before which my breakout rank was platinum 4, and when I returned to the arena playlist menu before I got off, I saw that my breakout rank was now platinum 3. Can anyone explain this? I am a bit annoyed, especially as I already think the way people are ranked in the first 10 games isn’t quite right.
Did you lose any matches? The rank is mostly if not solely based off your win-loss ratio.
More wins = higher rank. Kinda destroys the purpose of the KDA ratio since that seemingly is not coming into play for the CSR.
Also the pairing up is broken. I’ve faced Diamonds as Platinum and in one very unlucky match faced an Onyx.

No, I had played a game from a different playlist. I know that wins increase rank as well, as I’ve gotten to platinum 4 twice in breakout and returned back to platinum 1! It’s quite annoying, as I usually put in a good performance and I think I should have started at diamond anyway as I’ve beaten plenty of them.
You must have quit a breakout game somewhere or had a game where it couldn’t retrieve data.
Both will cause a delay in ranking up or down. If you quit a game you still get a win or a loss depending on whether your team wins or losses. Obviously the game cannot credit you with a win or a loss until that game(that you quit) is over.
