Rank rant.

My games were much better before the rank reset. I’m not that good at these games anymore. I was plat in arena slayer, daimond in FFA and I believe I just made plat in swat before the reset.

These ranks worked for me. Most games were close. We won about half of them and very rarely ran away with one or got demolished.

I was playing mostly against players in my general skill set.

Heres a sample stretch of 4 games since reset. Arena slayer 50-27 win, Arena slayer 50-23 loss, team doubles 25-7 win, and a complete shutout in breakout.

Keep players ranked where they should be. I don’t care if I’m daimond gold purple or Polk-a-dot. I want to play against players like myself. Not pro level or noobs.

Extend seasons to 3 months if you feel they are mandatory. But I was happy where I was at. Leave me there longer. I hope everyone ranks where they should be soon. Because some of the players I was against were just on completely different levels on both ends of the spectrum.

Nothing beats 2 evenly matched fireteams fighting it out. I don’t want to destroy a bunch of noobs or get stomped by players who should be in onyx or champion. Those games just aren’t fun.

Amen.

100% agree, although I can’t say I’ve been running into the same problem.

pre-season i felt ranks were largely irrelevant anyways. one game you-d do 50-25, next youd do 10-50.

I’m still getting matched with Unranked who are playing like Diamond. How many accounts are guys playing?

Fully agree. I’m about to head into my series and I hate getting destroyed by Onyx as much as I hate destroying people beneath my rank. Seasons should be 3 months so you can actually settle in your rank. That’d also be more convenient for people who can’t play every day.

Absolutely agree. My first 3 SWAT games ( which is was a diamond 4 in before reset ) were not how they should be. We demolished in the first game, barely scraped through in the second and got up 20 points in the third.

Beforehand, it wasn’t this sporadic in terms of who I’m going against. I want to play against people that challenge my skill, not smash it into the dirt or get -Yoink- on by it. I love the thrill of a close game, not beating on one guy and ruining his KD cos his team left him after they began to lose 31-5 ( Yep, that happened, endgame was 50-14 ).

The matches are as always for me, I experience no difference

Resetting of the ranks I think are pointless for most players. Most are not MLG players. Most are not going to attempt to be in the halo Championships. So we have to suffer the bad matchmaking once or twice a year for that small group. The competitive group was ignored with H4, now with H5 the casuals are ignored.

I am not a fan of the placement matches honestly.

I would much rather have everyone start at Bronze and work there way up. Sure the first couple weeks are crazy but it evens out and people settle where they need ot be.

Or if you insist on doing placement matches at least have it to where people could rank down.

I like the placement matches it makes things less of a grind, plus I also like the seasons I would hate to have to grind all the way from bronze to onyx every single season. I do however agree that being able to de rank would be a good idea because sometimes the placement matches put you into a too high a division and playing with those people sucks for them and the good players because they can’t drop to where they should be.

I’m struggling more in my newly ranked Platinums than I was before in Diamond and Onyx. I did place Platinum in the last three playlists I ranked, so at least it’s consistent and maybe they did fix some of the ranking issues. However, I ranked Diamond in FFA the first day I had the game and progressed to Onyx, and now I ranked Platinum a couple months later. I have only gotten better, and 6 players has reduced the amount of backrage and kill stealing, so what happened?

As someone else mentioned I’m playing so many unmatched people still who are pretty dominant. Matches are either won or lost by 30 points since the update. Maybe the trick is to wait a couple of weeks after the rank reset to do your placement matches; once order has been somewhat restored. I don’t think the placement matches work in the midst of the chaos.

I was playing yesterday just to get a rank and i had games where you could tell the other team was communicating and other games where teams were not very organize. I still don’t know how the ranks work but im still learning the maps and i tend to be inconsistent. I have a hard time predicting spawns or where im going in maps right now.

Over 30% of FFA players last month were ranked Onyx, it was even worse with SWAT I believe. Now those ranks have been tightened up, so you’re being placed where you should be.

I have played the 10 necessary games to qualify. Ended with a 40% W/L and a k/d of 0,97 (just two more kills and it would be a 1). I ranked silver V.
Last “season” i ended with a 50% W/L and a 1.19 k/d and got Gold 1. I can’t complain about the system. Works OK to me.

Yeah I’m pretty sure 80% were Onyx in Swat haha.

This right here 343. Listen to either one of these people, both are great ideas cause in tired of being ranked way higher than I belong. The game is not fun when this happens and I don’t want to wait a month just to be able to play the game and enjoy myself cause your ranking system is broken

I got stomped in my placement matches and now I’m even higher wtf? How am I ever gonna get a win :frowning:
