I’ve read over the patch notes for today and didn’t see anything to address rank resets. My ranks has reset two times now. I went from an 8 to a 1 then after I got back up to 9, it reset again. Many of my friends have experienced this too.
Does anyone know if this will be resolved with the patch?

Good. Most people aren’t having success getting into a match. A ranking advantage in the boards would make some competitive players upset.
I don’t honestly care about my ‘Level’, it’s more the skill ‘rating’ inside of it which I would be concerned about. I say it’s a good thing, that way when the game
is patched we all can let the ‘Ranking/Rating’ system organically sort itself out.
Consider this the beta period. I know that’s not what you signed up for, but that’s what the reality is. The ranks don’t really mean anything right now, and for a lot of reasons, should be reset. Remember, Halo ranks are skill based and can go up and down, so it’s not like you are losing COD XP. These are actually meaningful ranks that aren’t representative of how much you have played, but how good you are.

I know this, been play Halo since 2001 and was online day 0 for Halo 2. That being said, (and I know it doesn’t matter this early on) but there does come a time when you’ve played so much that your rank will stall. We saw this all the time when people would make new accounts so they could get to level 50. It’s far to early for that to really be an option, but it’s something I hope they at least consider.

I am also aware that this was essentially a Beta… I might even say Alpha because of all the Beta Tests I have been apart of, this is far more buggy than any of those. Heck the point of a public Beta Test is to mainly test connections between players and get a small glimpse into server loads… HaloMCC can’t do that properly right now.
I too played from Halo 2 day 1 onward. I know what you mean about ranks stalling, but I think the point there is to try to keep people in their proper ranks. The more you play, the more your good and bad games average out and so I can see how if you started over, you could shoot up really fast and even surpass your old rank. It certainly was annoying when people would be constantly making new accounts back in the day, or the dreaded “de-leveler”. Still, I have not seen anything close to the matchmaking system of halo2/3 since and have been craving it for so long.
My rank keeps resetting!!! This is ridiculous!!! even after a week you guys still can’t fix all these problems!!! The only thing you guys have going on is all the loyal halo fans you guys have, if not this game can easily be the worse one that has ever been develop! I have been playing video games for a long time now and haven’t encounter a game with so many bugs!!! By now it doesn’t even matter if you guys fix this dam game! what about all the time we have put in this passed week! This has been such a ripoff. What I really don’t understand is how you guys didn’t get this game to work, this is not early 2000s when matchmaking first came out. This is something old already! all the codes to make this work has been thought by someone else already. the game it self has been coded already yet you guys still didn’t get it right… now these are the same people that are making HALO 5 ??? I’m sorry I’m sure I speak for a lot of people, I have lost my trust in 343! EVEN IF YOU GUYS GET THE GAME TO WORK 100% BUG FREE.
Mine has been resetting too. It is very interesting that in each gametype description under halo 2 anniversary it says “Ranking Coming Soon”… Not going to lie, it does feel like this is beta testing for server calibration
I really wish this game wasn’t so broken… I’ve been reset twice already, first being a rank 5 and the other was a rank 8… this really frustrates me especially knowing this games multiplayer is not 100% fixed yet… Please fix this problem. . Btw is there a way to get your rank back or do I have to pretend that this never happened…

Yeah mine has reset three times now. And F that, there’s no reason for it to reset. This game is well beyond its “beta” stage, it’s a full-fledged working game and I work hard for my rank. Not only that but it also allows for way too many heavily out-classed games where someone gets 18 kills and another person gets 3 kills. That should hardly ever happen yet it seems to happen almost every game. That’s the entire point of the skill based ranking system. In short: STOP RESETTING MY RANK!
Yeah, it’s been resetting in the last few hours but only on the surface. Basically, don’t play any H2:A if you want to keep your rank! I actually just won a game and went down, so yeah…pretty f’d right now!
There are two people in this thread agreeing with each other about having played H2 and ranks ‘stalling’ after too many games… That was H3, your rank couldn’t stall in H2.

This time I stopped playing for the day and when I logged back in today my rank was back to 21. I have since increased my rank to 25 when it just recently reset again back to 1. So, I’m thinking maybe if you do play any games while your rank is at 1 your rank will not come back which is what I did the first time. But maybe if you don’t play any games and wait it out your rank may come back? At least that is what happen to me the second time. I will wait it out to test this theory and post back here if my rank does return to 25.

My rank has in fact returned to 25. So there you have it. It would appear that whenever your rank resets all you have to do is STOP PLAYING and WAIT and your rank should eventually return but if you play any games while your rank is at 1 it will stay that way. Hoped i helped!

Yo, this keeps happening to me as well. I can’t get past 9, because I keep getting reset. Come on 343, for the love of God can you fix your broken game already? I miss Bungie so much, they really knew what they were doing.
Reset three times now, twice at level 14 and once at level 18… i mean kind of wasting my time here
I’ve got the same problem for the 3rd time. Respectively at level 15,13 and 10… I should probably be level 30, maybe more… I hope 343 Will give us our levels back. Make something, really !!!
