You have no room to talk whatsoever given how the Ranking System in Halo 5 isn’t even skill based. All it depends on his how many games you play and win. You could be carried the whole game and win and you’d still rank up. Hell a freaking Silver 6 player could beat a Diamond 4 player depending on how they played in Arena or any other Ranked Playlist. The only Ranked Playlist in Halo 5 that actually depends on your skill is freaking Free For All.

The messages are on Halo Waypoint not Xbox Live. Well not really messages but more or less posts on other threads.

I get what you’re saying OP. And in my opinion there isn’t much skill difference between silver to platinum levels in any playlist. It’s all much of a muchness. However, I would say that although you technically CAN rank up as a less skilled player if your team carries you, it’s quite unlikely that you can do this consistently and to the higher levels beyond Plat 1. Probably if your team is carrying you the whole time they would be looking out for a new team mate… lol. And if you are solo queing you will lose more games than you win if you’re always bottom of your team.
I do agree that FFA is the best test of skill and rank, but then I would, it’s my highest rank and the only playlist I seem to do any good in!

unfortunately , due to the way the game type works , in free for all you can be a “vulture” and win. “I’m going to sit here and wait til I see a fight and then clean up both” , not hard to do , not hard to win.

I do and I agree that people can be jerks. What he is saying is wrong on so many levels. No team of silvers ever took on me and my friends when we were plat/diamonds. Maybe it matches sloppily if you run solo queue but from my experience there was a big difference in skill between ranksthat were that far apart. FFA the best show case of skill? In what way? It’s a matter of circumstance you can literally run around the corner and sweep free kills. It has nothing do with proper Halo. He also states that a guy who’s 0-25 is bad which is an exaggeration to prove his point but even if my teammates go negative I’m not mad because in the end the only thing that matters is winning. What can I do to aid them and what can they do to aid me. What information are they providing me with. Kills literally mean nothing if your team has your back. Someone with alot of assists is just as valuable as the guy getting the actual point. That’s the heart of Halo. Get over it.

This guy probably beats a stranded diamond with a team of golds and think he’s good all of a sudden. Play a team of diamonds with a team of golds and tell me how you do.

Yes! Applause. I wish some of my halo mates knew this fact. I have this one guy who is always whining on about ‘carrying the team’ even when the rest of us have double digit assists. Anyway.
I disagree that FFA isn’t ‘proper halo’ just because it’s not a team game? I get the ‘vulture’ aspect but actually at higher levels that won’t work so well. Sure you can get clean up kills but to get them you need map awareness and timing. If you just sit around waiting for kills in a corner you won’t win. FFA is mainly about controlling the power weapons (shock!) and map positioning. Also knowing when to go agro and when to hang back.

Dude I hardly play Arena or any other Ranked Playlists. I only ever play Arena with some friends of mine when they wanna play Arena and I’m always matched up with people of at least Diamond Rank(my friends are like Diamond and Onyx ranked cause they love ranking up in Arena)and I always come in 3rd or 2nd place for the most part while having more kills than most of the enemy team.
The only times I really play Arena or Slayer or anything else that isn’t Social is when I’m unranked and want to see which rank I get once I’m done finishing x amount of games. Other than that, I just play Infection, Griffball, Big Team Battle and Warzone/Assault/Firefight.
