Minor thing, but i would like to see rank badges similar to Halo 3 or even the rank for people on halowaypoint. It makes ranking up more exciting
In halo 3, you could look at a badge and you would know what badge is more prestigious than the previous rank.
I couldnt look at mcc ranks without the number and say, yes, the rank with the two green corners at the top is higher than the rank with the purple corner in the bottom left
I agree. Personally, I’d like to see Guardians with a ranking system like Reach, along with a skill-based rank for MP too.

Reach had a leveling system, not ranking system. I want Reach’s leveling system and an edited Halo 5’s ranking system.
halo reach had the best leveling up system
I disliked the Halo: Reach leveling system because it was based mainly on the amount of games that you play, same with Halo 4, it was progression ranking. As with Halo 2 and 3 it was skill based, these also had some flaws that I disliked but both systems worked pretty good. It would be best if they had both systems, progression for social, and skill based ranks for competitive.
We all want a better system for Halo 5

Best leveling system? Hell No. Sorry but i gotta disagree. It was just how much time you put into the game… nothing near what skill you had in the game.
I hate ranks in Halo. It just promotes elitism and contempt for lower ranked players. Reach and H4 was fine.

I think they were referring to exactly that. A leveling system based on time put into the game. Not the actual skill-based “ranking” system.
Well the Halo 5 ranks are pretty much what you’re asking for. Halo 5’s CSR functions much like the Halo 2 ranking system, only its ranks are represented by insignias and tiers instead of numbers.
The ranks are:
- Iron I - Iron II - Iron III- Bronze I - Bronze II - Bronze III- Silver I - Silver II - Silver III- Gold I - Gold II - Gold III- Onyx I - Onyx II - Onyx III- Semi-Pro- Pro (Top 200 Players)
Rank, whether skill-based or exp-based, whether numeric or symbolic, equals GRIND. At least it does for me. And I don’t ever want to grind at this again. I just want to play.
Reach’s progression ranking system was pretty good, but it would be nice if it was individualized to each playlist like Halo 3.
