Does anyone actually enjoy playing with randoms? I really would like to know especially in this game I see a majority play 1vs1 and I’m beginning to see why.
I play 1v1s for competitive games. But if I don’t really care then I play with randoms
When you play with randoms and win, you advance in rank quicker. And when you loose, you dont get penalized as much.
I play randoms to get things like challenges done, but man is sure frustrating to play with randoms. Whether they quit in Strongholds, have low ranks, or just do not help. Simple things like Heroic AI aren’t difficult alone but it’s just annoying to have to fight 3 armies by yourself. I don’t know how you guys do it.
I mainly 1v1 but do a lot of random 3v3s. Yeah I do lose a lot of those but it does not bother me much since I know I would beat most of them 1v1. As long as your teammates don’t drop out I don’t mind the challenge of facing a more organized team.
Plus always playing at a disadvantage actually helps you get better at the game. I have to jump through so many hoops to win a 3v3 with randoms that a 1v1 match feels like a breeze afterwards.
I give you guys props, you guys have the patience to deal with it. Some randoms aren’t bad, but the way I see it, if you’re struggling against Heroic AI, how are you going to beat actual people? You shouldn’t be in a 2 hour match against AI…

But… Unless sales jump, I don’t see it being fixed due to the population.

I pretty much solo queue most of the time. It’s pretty much a lucky dip, sometimes you get lucky, sometimes the scrub builds 5 marines and sits in his base for all of the game. I do like solo queuing just because if the game doesn’t go too great I don’t have to apologise to a friend haha
If you are a relatively strong player 1v1, the trick to winning 3v3 with randoms is to not draw too much attention to yourself. Play an aggressive defense but don’t attack opponents base unless you know you can destroy it quickly. If you are too slow and don’t destroy the base you are cooked.
Every time I do rushes or just try aggressive 1v1 style strategy, I end up being the focus or their counterattacks and end up getting eliminated first every time undeservedly.
Play smart and you will have better odds of winning. Defend your teammates but don’t waste resources defending a completely useless teammate. Even then, a useless teammate can be useful since the opponents are attacking them and not you which buys you time to mobilize your own attack.

Exactly this. I like playing with randoms cos I love that randomness and chaotic aspect they offer.
I usually play with my teammate 3s in order to get that chaotic randomness by that 3rd player.
But the teams are a pain to fight against. I wish the population was large enough to support all the playlists like hw1 did.
I’ve gotten to such a point where, I try to help, I try to give my teammates time to build up, but if I get rid of an enemy base, and you have a full army and just watch the whole game, I will self destruct.

I’m almost there lol. I love when my teammates lose their starting units and then I don’t see another unit until 10 min in when they pop out a single Condor/Scarab only to promptly get that unit decimated. Those are my favorite!

They build Condors without Nightingales or Scarabs without Engineers. When the guy sent me a message saying it took 2 hours to defeat Heroic AI, I let him know the match would have been over in 15 minutes if they would have just helped me push after I destroyed the final base and 3 armies.
