Yesterday I was on fire, going like 29-3 in BTB, but today I’m doing terrible for some reason and getting around 10 kills max in a game?
They say it takes about 50 matches to get you matched up with your skill group… However if you are also learning quickly this might take a few games. Factor in losses due to silly teammates and losses via JiP… I imagine it took you close to a couple hundred matches to find competition?
i hear ya on this one. I was playing friday night and in 7 games i was plus 96 for a KD. I played sunday and last night and i don’t even want to know, i was probably only plus 10 after 15-25 games. Its stupid! I found one thing though. I played with a group of friends on friday night, we had a full big team and i was rocking but Sunday and last night i moved, and i played with a different friend and I was doing horrible, i think it really has to do with the people you play with. I wasn’t kill stealing on friday they let me use the weapons i like to use AKA the sniper and I was able to control vehicles as well while i was getting plus 20 something other people on the team were low 20’s high teens. Now sunday and last night i am working on changing my controller layout because i was using the COD style layout and hated trying to throw a gernade with the bumper I find it hard to stick poeple like that since my finger is not sitting there, so i have selected a layout where the gernades are left trigger… Anyway thats what i am seeing. But i hear ya…
I know how it is as well. Majority of us have been there. Everyday i play i have a slump time where i cannot accomplish anything productive. I usually step away from the game for a little bit.
I have my days where i am on and no one can take me off. Then i have the days where i may have been playing with a stick of glue. It happens to everyone. Just sit back and let it ride or take a break.
Yep, we all have bad days. Just one of those things in which neurons aren’t properly wired for Halo gameplay at the time.
yeah i feel you bro. we all have our bad days. i find that i usually play 10x better when someone is watching me (for obvious, want-to-look-good reasons) and also when ever i take my prescribed vyvanse (‘ADHD’ medication). i don’t take it reguarly but when i do i find that i am serous business hardcore into it and play really well.
also so happy/shocked to see a normal, non-complaining, post on these forums. these are the kind of random conversational posts that are supposed to be going on in forums like these.
Ive been haveing a bad week its like on release and christmas i was doing great then that all went away.

Yesterday you were host. Today someone else got a turn to Godmode.
Ah well those things happen.
Put down the controller for a day and start again tomorrow is my best advice.
I too have days when I play great, followed by completely crappy days. As if my thumbs won’t respond fast enough, like my reactions are just way off for some reason. Maybe you’re tired or whatever. But usually taking a break from it for a day works for some weird reason.
Same as when you’re stuck in games, and you put the game away for a week or so…and then you just roll through whatever was holding you up last time.
This is another reason why visible skill ranks can be very helpful. I often wonder if I am just getting out-played or having a bad day or what, but I will never know because I don’t have any tools to gauge that.
I have those games as well. Everyone does. Most of my games I am unstoppable, especially when you play with a good team. Or your friend(s). Then I have those games where I just get my -Yoink- handed to me like no other. If you’re in a slump, give it a couple more games and if it continues, take a break. That’s exactly what I do and it really helps. Just don’t get angry at the game we don’t want that lol.
Oh yeah it happens, Im in a bit of a slump at the moment myself. This is the moment when its time to put the controller down and take a break. The minute you get frustrated things will only get worse.
I’ve noticed a pattern to my streaks and slumps unfortunately. I play well in the morning and I suspect that I’m playing more children than anything. In the evening, the population more than likely also has more skilled and older players online.
And again, there’s also streaks and slumps that have to be acknowledged.
