Anyone’s aim seem to get randomly worse than usual in certain matches? I notice that if the connection to the server on a particular match isn’t good, if there’s s bit of rubber banding taking place, my aim gets really off.
It almost feels like it’s being pulled in places it shouldn’t, away from the target… it just starts to feel unnatural, and I play H5 enough to where the aim typically DOES feel natural. Idk…
Had anyone experienced this or have any ideas? It honestly feels like I’m fighting the aim assist slightly if the server connection is bad during a match.
That’s most likely your controller dude. I have a controller that, when left idle, will always look either left or down, and it does effect my aim and feel like it’s an outside influence when it’s just the controller
I feel the same thing a lot to be honest. This week I was able to have a good connection, but last night and tonight have been pretty crappy
I hate it when I aim at 1 thing, and then some Spartan (or even an elite) walks in front of my target and aim assist starts following that target, throwing off my aim.

My controller is brand-new…

Yeah but does it feel like your aim is almost being pulled all over the place because of enemies being in different places/rubber banding all over the screen? I’ve noticed dropped shots as well, at times…
And I mean just shooting at one guy, not people jumping in the way, forcing your crosshair to be pulled by them… feels a little different than that.
A while back (like months ago) a member on waypoint surmised that the aiming mechanic is tied to server connection somehow
this theory was never proven or disproven, but it is still a theory
I’m not sure how accurate this is but I think I’ve seen other players talk in the forums about how latency affects many aspects of the game. Including speed, reload, aim, etc. I only ever notice it in really laggy games, almost as if I’m fighting the game(or random inputs) to keep the reticle on target.

Me too, however it’s kind of a necessary evil…
Yeah it does, but I’m mostly attributing it to my inconsistency. Sometimes I’ll have a great game of SWAT where my aim is largely on point, while next game I could be missing 90% of headshots.

Try playing Slayer/Arena in similar conditions… I’ll struggle to hit a shot at all, in some encounters.
Then maybe the next game where things may feel a little more crisp, I’ll finish with over 50% accuracy. Like what?
Yeah man, even movement can feel real sluggish at times as well.
