Hi, a specific person on halo 5 arena keeping shooting me (not killing me, so it doesn’t count as a betrayal) but it puts me to one shot everytime which gives the enemy an easy kill. There’s nothing I can do, i tried blocking and reporting him but the matchmaking keeps putting me in games with him. I literally cannot play this game anymore.
I don’t want to play on another gamertag or stop playing this game so what are my options?
Temporary measure would be to always go in with a premade fireteam of 4 people, either from your friend’s list, a Spartan Co., or the recruiting forum here on Waypoint. As for a long term solution, I’m not sure. It sounds like your region doesn’t have many people playing, which would explain why you keep seeing the same player(s) over and over. I would say that you need to continue to report the player for each instance of betraying behavior. Eventually, his rep will get so low that Xbox Live won’t match him with you anymore.

Thanks for the reply Chimera. I like the premade fireteam of four idea. Yeah, i do see the same people all the time when searching on team arena. I just wish there was an option to set him as an avoided player.
I prefer to ‘solo smurf’ on team arena because it’s more challenging but I guess I’ve gotta roll as a team of four (probably going to invite three randoms as my friends don’t play halo anymore).
Are you sure xbox live won’t match him with me if I continually report him?

If you and others continually report actual infractions/wrongdoings (don’t abuse the system with false claims, that will backfire), then eventually that player will build up a enough reports to effect his rep. Once his rep starts to go down, if his behavior doesn’t change, he will no longer be matched with players with good rep. This process can take awhile, but the system is there.
As for your comment about “solo smurfing”, if you are using the term in the way I think, then that’s not something you want to advertise. Smurfing is frowned upon by the community and alternate accounts are not allowed on Waypoint.

I think he’s targetting me personally so I doubt he’ll receive many reports. I’m not going to abuse the reporting system, i’d rather there was an option to avoid him.
Yeah I did get my terminology incorrect, I don’t use smurf accounts. What I mean was that I like to go from Platinum to Onyx whilst playing team arena alone (searching as a one man fire team). It’s a lot more challenging but I keep matching this guy who keeps betraying me which is the problem.
Anyway, I really appreciate your help, but I guess i’ll just have to stop playing Halo and find another shooter to play as I have no interest in any other game mode than team arena, all because of one person and the fact that friendly fire doesn’t count as betrayal.
