Random Vehicles

So this is starting to irritate me.

Before today I hadn’t played Reach for quite a while. Infact it required me to download an update.

So I start playing, and realize suddenly I can drive random box trucks around the Pillar of Autumn campaign level. I don’t remember this before today. Same deal with the red tractor trucks (those suckers HAUL).

Of course there’s the forklift and the baggage carts too, but I have to question this.

What is the point? Like… okay, I drove a big rig through the Covenant on my way to the Autumn. Cool. But if these vehicles aren’t making Multiplayer appearances, I don’t see the point.

Imagine a race game with forklifts or big rigs.

Plus there’s the machinima potential, obviously.

Just for fun

I’m fairly certain you’ve always been able to do this though, unless I’m mistaken.

They are not used in multiplayer because as you stated their isn’t really a point to them. They are in campaign and firefight as more of cool items you can interact with and have been drivable since the game launched. Bungie even made a weekly update describing the forklifts development and the many bugs that it had.

It’s use to have fun and play around with.

They don’t do anything, but it makes you feel awesome to drive one, plus they have been drivable since launch. It’s nothing new.

This was epic, one time while playing on Legendary, my little nephew and I used the truck to destroy the wraith down the road. We even made the “jump” over the destroyed bridge. I rode on top of the truck, rocket launcher at the ready, while he drove and when the Phantom dropped the wraith I fired until it exploded. Made that part of the campaign much easier but we were unable to repeat that. Just got lucky I guess.

They should have been in Forge.

The ability to drive trucks/forklifts and stuff has ALWAYS been in reach
