I’ll start off by saying that I understand it’s random. I understand that there are certain weightings for each weapon, ability, or grenade. I saw the graphics in the Bulletin.
But they are simply too “random” to be beneficial to the game.
This post is partly specific to myself, but partly specific to the game as a whole.
In the past 2-3 days of playing, I’ve received nothing but Speed Boost, Pulse Grenades, and Needlers, with the occasional SAW or Rail Gun, depending on if I’m playing Slayer or BTB, respectively.
I haven’t received a Sniper, Rockets, or anything else of use in the past 2-3 days. Meanwhile, my enemies (NOTE: Not my teammates) are receiving Rocket after Rocket and Sniper after Sniper. I discovered that Rockets actually occur on Adrift. I thought 343i had specific weapons for each map?
My first point is that I’m frustrated at how unfair this is. I haven’t received squat for my efforts, but my enemies are constantly mowing me down with Snipers and Rockets, Binary Rifles and Incineration Cannons.
Again, I know it’s random…but this random? By chance you’d assume I would receive one of those guns once a day.
My second point is that the system is unfair to teams in general. For one thing, there’s no way of knowing who has what at any time. Take Slayer on Asylum in Reach for example: I look across the map, see that the Sniper is gone, and assume that an enemy took it. If it’s there, then an enemy must not have one.
With random drops, I can turn the corner and be killed by a Rocket or Shotgun and not have any idea that those guns were even on the map.
Then you add the random factor in, and one team will always receive better guns than the other. I haven’t played a game where that didn’t occur.
Please remove this pointless system.
