Yes, even with a particular drop point for a specific weapon, or should we say, a drop point with a specific weapon as it is the drop point that decides the weapon.
See, the location is indeed static, the spartan laser will always spawn on that exact location. The problem is however that each time the game selects which drop locations to use for weapon drops, it selects them randomly. If you have ten drop locations next to each other all with individual weapons, the weapons should drop in randomly in no specific order, and the time between the drops and in different games should also be random.
I’ve gone games without the laser on red side, blue is by the beach, I’ve gone games without the Inc Cannon and without the Binary Rifle. I’ve also gone games where theose power weapons have spawned several times in one match.
I’ve however ran into some problems as I’ve tried to run around by myself in a match collecting every single drop that drops, even the static ones, and also wasting the ammo for them. I only had the SAW spawn on blue side, for 16 entire minutes. Then on my second run, the SAW only spawned on red side.
Then I put in a guest and got a sniper drop by the turret.
This has also led me to believe that the map drops are somehow linked to the player count on the map, or score difference between the teams. I haven’t had time to play to find any sort of link though. Either way, I haven’t found any information that would point that way though.
Either way, the location chosen out of all those available are random.
