Random disconnects, returned to menu and offline

Hey guys,
I’ve been experiencing random disconnects from all modes of multiplayer since release. I will be playing and all of a sudden, my screen will go black, loading screen with game tips pops up and then I’m on the menu showing as offline. I only have access to settings and solo campaign. After about 10 seconds I show online in game and can go about my business.

This is doesn’t happen on any other game at all and it’s extremely random for when it happens. As far as I know my NAT is always open, there are no breaks in my connection as far as other systems, friends list shows people on the dashboard, I’m still in party chat and talking perfectly normal.

Ive set my DMZ on my router settings, I perform system cache resets by holding the Xbox one button until shut down and this is slowly pulling me away from the game and giving up.

if anyone has similar issues or any solutions I could try, I would appreciate it.

I’ve been seeing the same issues occurring with both the Halo 5 and The MCC the last couple of days. It does not happen at all times but more random. I do not have any lag before the disconnect it’s almost as if someone just cut the power.

Yes, it’s just a bit bizarre how it is random. I’ve also been having similar disconnects with the Division beta but that could be completely unrelated.

I also discovered I didn’t system cache reset correctly. Since then I haven’t experienced anything but not saying it was a fix.

Bump, i’m having the same problem.

As am I. Last night I was trying to play, and in every game, it was solid, then after about 3-4 minutes, I got a lag spike and then the tips screen and I was booted to main menu. This happened in about 4 games and then I got banned as the game assumed I was quitting, Very frustrating. This has happened to me in the past on occasion, but not as badly as it did last night.
This only seems to happen in Halo 5. All of my settings are open and such, no connection issues, so I do no understand. Also, I do not know if this is related to it, or just xbox live, I would be unable to connect to my party chat for a few minutes, then it would join it back up.

Any update if you think system cache resetting really has helped?

Same issue here for me. I go a solid 3-4 minutes with no apparent lag, then all of a sudden I’m in a gunfight with an enemy and it’s as if I pressed the wrong button at the wrong time and the screen goes black, and I end up on the menu, having to dashboard and quit out of Halo to do anything else.

I had similar issues but they have thus vanished to my knowledge. Hopefully this is the case for you too eventually.

Bump. This happens to a friend of mine all of the time. Probably every three games. The match always counts as a loss. The weird thing is, he never gets quit banned.

If he’s only being disconnected from the error it probably doesn’t hit the triggered amount necessary but with what you said that sounds illogical as well…

Well so far it hasn’t happened again. Maybe the system cache worked, maybe something else changed its hard to tell. But so far it’s been clean sailing, minus the xbl issues recently.

hi, i just cant play…i am at the menu of h5 and it gors offline…why¿ anyone¿

Literally 5 games in a row this has happened to me. Im solid for a few minutes, I then get randomly booted back to the main menu. After game 3 I was banned. And now I have a ban for an hour and 45 minutes because I “have poor connection to dedicated servers.” This cant be seriously happening.

Update on my situation. I have disconnected twice today, returned to menu and show as offline on the game screen. System cache trick isn’t the one then.

Disconnected 5 times since the update, had this problem before and it seemed to go away. Now it’s back after the update.
Time Warner 10 x 1 22ms ping, no problem with other games.

I’m now having random disconnects with The Division also now. Restarting system cache does work for a bit, but the same problem will occur eventually.

Same thing keeps happening. I played 3 games tonight, 1 I managed to complete and the team won. The other two I was playing and got kicked out and now it says for one of them DNF. The games were 25 percent in progress and there were no lag issues. 343I has all these issues with their servers and the only thing I believe they care about is their Halo World champion series. How about fix your servers 343.

It’s a problem with 343’s stupid, poorly coded network. Bunch of amateurs (343).

They’ve admitted previously they messed up. Also The Division is consistent to Ubisoft’s inability to do anything right and utter incompetence, they have MIKE, DELTA errors you name it, there’s bugs and problems so the disconnects there are nothing to do with your connection. Same with Halo 5.

It’s a problem with the game itself.

Too many have reported a problem and it happens to myself & fireteam. Open NAT & what should be a really good connection (100mb down, 10mb up) on fibre optic and this shouldn’t be happening. However thanks to 343, we now have random disconnects from the game where by you are returned to the main menu. What’s worse is if you have used a Legendary RP or XP boost, get this random disconnect back to the menu screen, you will have lost any kills, XP and RP earned from that game + the REQ boost you equipped.

Thanks 343!

I have been having disconnects or drops from matches since release. Both in arena, warzone, and co-op campaign with friends. When I get disconnected it shows a loading screen with the concept art and then drops me back on the main menu. I am usually unable to jump back into multiplayer because it can’t reconnect me to the lobby service. I am still connected to xbox live. I also have an open NAT and what appears to be a great connection to all other xbox live services. This makes playing multiplayer very frustrating. I can complete some matches fine and probably only was kicked 3 times in the whole campaign. But I have pretty much given up on warzone completely because of the time commitment involved. I will most likely get disconnected before the match completes.

Hmm, well for a laugh I wanted to play som Battleifield Hardline with a friend and managed to play a few matches just fine and then I was kicked to the main menu, no ban or error message. I was still in party chat and talking consistently with my friend. So now I’m thinking it is a network issue, I live in the UK and I’m using a bit home hub 5. I did try port forwarding for multiple games and setting it to be in a DMZ. Might have to take a look at a few more settings…
