Random bans getting REALLY annoying...

So this is close to the 4th time it’s happened… Playing a game, the game finishes, as it’s loading the stats, it says server connection lost, them BAM.

The Banhammer strikes.

Anyone know how to fix/avoid this? It’s really frustrating.

Yeah, I have a fix.

It’s called not implementing ban systems and letting the customers play the game how they want.

The thing is I’m not quitting games.

I’m legitimately finishing them, then being penalized steer the match ends.

i have had that happen once or twice it is rather annoying

Your game history shows you’ve quit out of 6 games today alone.

Exactly.

The main issue with systems like this is that there’s no way to prevent non-deserving players from getting punished. For example, Super Smash Bros uses a similar system, where it will ban players who attack the same player for too long, self-destruct on purpose, or quit mid-match. The problem is that the online infrastructure sucks, so often you’ll get into laggy matches, and while normal matches take like 3-4 minutes, these lagfests take about 30 minutes because the game operates at 5 frames per minute. The only way you can get out of the match is to quit or self-destruct, and if you do that, you get banned, so your only options are to put down your controller for 30 minutes or quit and get banned.

Anyway, the point is that even if you can get past the moral dilemma of “Well, these customers supported the company in the past and payed hard-earned cash for the game, do I really want to ban them for things like quitting and teamkilling, or simply playing how they want to?”, there is no way to implement that system without screwing plenty of players over.

Your game history looks like you quit when you are losing. You have one game with 0 kills and 2 deaths. How did you not quit?

We can see your game history, and the bans sure don’t look random.

I’m aware of Smash bans, I play competitive Smash. My mains are Cap’n Falcon, Ness, and Mega Man. And it’s true the netcode for Smash is godawful, most matches being extremely laggy.

And as far as I was aware, Halo 5 had dedicated servers. They should be able to monitor and detect when they’ve had glitches in their system.

I quit matches when other people just drop out.
Yes.
I hate it being 2v4 or 1v4.

But the bans only apply when I finish matches?

Not to mention I have a kitten who tends to lay in my Xbox one because it’s warm and she has a tenancy to turn it off occasionally haha

You quitting games isn’t a glitch in the system.

So what?

You are not going to win here. Most gamers hate quitters. Regardless of why. Leaving your team is not cool.

Random?

How about my random -Yoink- ban? Not sure why I got banned besides for an accidental betrayal on a teammate during a SWAT match. I think the system needs to have a heck of a lot more leeway than it currently does. I haven’t quit out of matches (intentionally). I’ve had one or two times where I’ve been invited by players and it drops you into their lobby leaving the game you’re currently in.

Now what I don’t understand is that the system didn’t ban me after the match where I got the betrayal kill and got kicked from; I played another match or two after and then all of the sudden: -BAM- Banned From Arena. This is a really poor system and it needs to be fixed. This may only be my first time getting banned but I have buddies who play swat that get kicked for accidental betrayals that end up banned. TBH SWAT Shouldn’t even have ban rules in effect. Team killing in it with the current abilities that the Spartans have; such as the ground pound and the Spartan strike, is inevitable and getting punished for a mistake shouldn’t ruin an entire afternoon of fun for you and whatever friend(s) you happen to be paired with.

That being said I think the kick system in the game needs to be updated as well. There are games of SWAT that I play where the enemy team controls the spawns by having a non-active player just sitting in a corner of the map allowing their team to control where they start off. I’ll admit on some maps I camp in certain spots because I’ve realized it gives my team a better spawn. I think players that are inactive for the first 30 seconds of a match (don’t fire a shot, don’t move more than just their aiming, and or give up more than 1 kill without controller input) should be kicked and banned. If you’re going into a game you should be ready to play… that’s all this Spartan has to say…

I’m ok with getting bans when I quit matches. Seriously. I’m ok with being penalized.

Like I said, most of the time I only quit when other people quit, or when we have stand-stills.
I don’t want my K/D and win rate to go down because other people left the game or some guy is just in matchmaking and not playing. And it happens so frequently, yeah. I quit 6 games a day. Tired of being left with 2v4’s. It takes the fun out of the game. Then their team mans all the power weapons and kills you right out of spawn.
I don’t want to deal with that. Sorry. You can be upset all you want.

I’ve never quit a match in Halo Reach and my K/D is .7
Not because I don’t know how to play the game, but because of those matches right there, when everyone quits. I don’t want that awful K/D in this game, so when things go downhill, yes, I quit.

That’s not why I’m here.
I’m asking why bans get applied after I win matches, or finish them.

Because it’s flood right now. On average the ban gets applied 2-3 games after the last quit that would ban you. Same things with betrayals. Once the cobwebs are off you’ll see yourself being banned right away. And the looks of it all the time.

Fine then let me know when I can start using wall hacks. It’s how I want to play.

My girlfriend also just got banned for no reason I I got booted from a game for accidental tk in swat match and then like 5 or 6 games later bam.
This is ridiculous
