So one of the main issues I’ve had with Halo games over the years is the whole “Slow-Turn” controller issue that only seems to be present in Halo games, or noticeable persay. Any thoughts on whether or not this issue has been resolved in Halo 4? It’s put many people that I know personally through many different controllers and is just really frustrating. Just food for thought.
I’ve seen some videos about the SR, which from what I’ve gathered so far may be our representable rank. Although, I could be wrong considering from what I’ve heard we can only see our own “true skill” or “rank”. Thoughts on this? Would appreciate it if anyone could actually confirm what this is.
Anyone else excited about the balance that seems to be presented in this game? I was fairly surprised to see how everything works together with all of these new changes and ideas that 343 had put into this game. I will admit, at first I was very against most of the ideas, and still am against the whole “not being able to drop flag” idea; but seeing as I have endless love for Halo as a whole, I’m sure I’ll learn to ignore that at some point in time. But a dream come true finally as the BR AND the DMR have both made an entry into this game, along with some other cool rifles that we haven’t seen before!
Being a very avid MLG player, I really wished for more smaller competitive based maps. I know this has been a heated topic on here lately, and a lot of compromise has been concluded with people finally realizing that everyone has sprint, but I really wanted to touch on it. I really hope that the lack of smaller arena maps doesn’t take away the competitive Halo feel. Regardless of whether you want to admit it or not, the competitive scene for Halo was a very big part of the series. It made A LOT of money for the franchise, which really puzzled me when Reach strayed away from that, I feel like it was a really bad business move. I just hope that this game will bring life back to this, because it’s truly the only reason I continue to play Halo today. What can I say? I’m an adrenaline junkie, and the competitive scene is what fuels that for me. This is kind of just a rant on my part, feel free to comment with ideas or anything of that sort.
What do you feel about the Joining in Progress idea? I do agree, over the years it’s been really disappointing when that random person that you don’t know out of your party quits, and you’re at a really large disadvantage when the other team actually knows what they’re doing. It would just seem odd to me for someone to join in the middle of the game, it will make stats a lot less “meaningful” I guess you could say, because you weren’t there throughout the tougher parts of the game when your team was struggling but may have finally taken over. Although I guess I won’t have a problem booting my teammate anymore with the comfortable feeling that someone better will come and replace him :]
Want to touch up on the maps one last time, what are your thoughts so far from what you have seen, or may have been a lucky soul to even play on one of these new featured ones from Halo 4? I feel that graphically these are the best maps Halo has even seen. 343 really knows what they’re doing, they kind of gave a glimpse of that with the remakes of the Halo 1 maps that they released in the DLC towards the end of Reach. You could really tell how much better the maps looked as compared to the original launch maps. The Hang Em’ High remake was stunning! The large structure in the background and the hologram beside the “Red Base” I do believe, was just really refreshing to see on the map. I really want to see some Halo 2 maps remade for this game in later DLC. I realize there is only 1 on the ship, but I just couldn’t get enough of the H2 maps. Terminal, Relic, Waterworks were some of my favorite maps, hell even Burial Mounds (Edit LOL); and need I remind you I am a competitive player at heart, but I still love the casual gameplay as well.
Feel free to quote any of the walls of text and give your opinions/disagreements/ihateyous or whatever your heart desires, I just felt the need to get some discussion going for myself. Cheers, and good luck surviving this next month, I know you’ll need it as much as I do.
