Ramps & Doors & More! (oh, you will agree)

 :video_game:

Ok…hear me out.

First, I love Halo Infinite so far and I believe 343i is doing a wonderful job with this amazing style. I’m not going to list them here because we’re not here for that. Are there issues to address, we’re not here for that either.

What I’m about to share with you is my personal experience and I believe you will also agree with the two following ideas that came to mind.

So today I was in the Halo Infinite Menu checking out the amazing “1 to 5 Star Rating” system for the very first time. I like it and think everyone should try it. While I’m going through and rating various game types and maps, I came across Arena: CTF on Bazaar, everyone is aware of this game, as I started to think about my personal experience with said game…two amazing ideas come to mind.

I really do like the map, but when playing CTF particularly, I’ve noticed that most of the time when the enemy team takes your flag, the following is true.

  1. it’s very hard to catch up to the flag and/or defend it when you’re trying to put up a fight all while running in a forward direction and then, it gets worse, it’s way to hard to: jump to a ledge in the alley, clamber, jump up to the next ledge, then clamber again, then jump over to the second floor bar, which during that entire time, this amazing Halo Community is ripping me apart with such accuracy, from said bar ledge…really, gg’s.

My feedback to fix this particular situation would be, instead of having two ledges on the alley wall to jump and clamber to, build two or three ramps or maybe staircases to match the theme. Somehow, connect the alley to the second floor bar platform and maybe even a horizontal walkway attached to the wall and connected to the platform above shotty.

This added feature would not only help the defenders movement but also could provide some cover as fights would breakout while gaining height and distance quickly.

(jumping and clambering there in the open is not good)

I do like the map, I just believe ramps or stairs in that area would be incredible!

Ok, if that wasn’t amazing enough, this piece of fo’shizzle is about to blow your top! Let’s go.

  1. Best for last! Stay with me, it gets a little deep. Picture yourself on said map, standing at the flag, if you look left or right, there are walls located in both directions, how amazing would it be if, on each of those walls, somewhere would be a Green Door. Yes, you’ve seem 'em, ha…and those two green doors transport you to the other two green doors in the enemy base!

THINK ABOUT THIS! You can’t even imagine how crazy that would be, transporters would not only help the chasing team in CTF but, the Green Doors are just “fun as $#!7” in Slayer!

Final thought on CTF:
Ramps and Transporters are key to that map, it will blow your mind!
There will be so much more, and I mean SO MUCH MORE battles and contesting the flag and way LESS chasing, dying, spawning, chasing, game over.

Thank you for reading. Please let me know if you agree or not.

:trophy: [BONUSES] Ok, for those of you that have invested this much reading, here are two golden nuggets. First, pertaining to the Green Door idea, 343i could dynamically change which door goes to which side at which time of which day of which week of which season…haha, sorry…just a nugget!

Finally, it’s really all about having fun, so lighten up, have fun and become.

Sincerely LOVING Halo Infinite,

haloXcell

You had me at “voting system.”

Is that a hypothetical or an actual feature right now?

My bad, not voting…should be Rating System.

For instance, if you click on Multiplayer and Quick Match, then click Game List, then click each one to Rating.

It’s sweet, could get some TLC down the road…hope 343i is looking at my ratings.

Sorry, this was kind of misleading. I thought you were referring to an in-game map/mode voting system.

Oh I see, you mean in the lobby?

Maybe I should change the word vote to rating.

Thank you

I like the rating idea for sure. The “Green Doors” you mention seem oddly familiar… like specifically exactly like Beaver Creek/Battle Creek That has “Green doors” (they are specifically teleporters) at each end of the map so that you can make swift attacks into the enemies base. This gets highly defended though in Halo: CE and Halo 2 and never posed an issue with either Halo: CE or Halo 2 at the time or even in MCC. However with the inclusion of the Gravity hammer and it’s vast splash damage range that it has in Halo Infinite this could VERY easily become abused. We all know how spawn kills happen in Griffball, this wouldn’t be any different. UNLESS! they soley remove the sword and hammer out of those maps with teleporters or your “green doors” then it wouldn’t pose any sort of issue that I could see…

I agree…actually, I really think the Hammer needs NERFing.

It really sucks when you get destroyed by a Hammer at a range of 5 yards or so…I do not agree with it.

Yeah sometimes it can even be more than that. Also I don’t understand why it is quicker to swing a hammer than it is to thrust or swing a sword. I don’t agree with the way it works.

I find it hard to tell what a safe distance is from the hammer. I’ve seen my shields get completely eaten up at ranges that instinctively feel safe. While I don’t mind the shockwave concept to make it feel different from the sword it does feel a little excessive when you are on the receiving end.

that is the nails head. Just like you said, I never know how far the Hammer is gonna hurt me from.

Not a fan

anyone else like the ramp & door idea?
