When I was working on the DMR/BR Commendations I did fine, Rarely I had a negative game, But after maxing those out Im working on the lightrifle/Promethian Grenades now and going up against DMR fights Ive been getting raped, Am I silly for doing this and not using my DMR/BR or is this what you guys would do when you max out yours?
I generally mix up my weapon loadouts and try not to stick to one particular weapon all the time so that I’m constantly working towards multiple commendations. It also depends on the map and the game type for me as well.
I’ve found that this way I have some fun using different weapons and I also don’t max out a few specific commendations and feel like I need to only use other weapons.
But hey, in the end, you’ll get them all eventually regardless of which way you approach it.

I doubt I’ll even bother trying to max the non-UNSC weapons.
wait till u have to get plasma pistol kills LOL! Here is what i do, i start off the game with w/e commendation i am working on and just get a feel for the match. If they are of lesser skill ill keep using the same loadout. But if they are good i switch back to dmr/br.

Lately Ive been playing KoTH and yeah Ive been “that guy” that just goes for kills
Loadout:
Lightrifle
Boltshot
Pro Grenades
Jet Pack
Grenadier
Explosives
I usually get 5-6 pro grenade kills a game, Just shoot them a few times while running at them and slap them in the face with a buffed pro grenade
Ofcourse I die like 3-4 times before I get one kill lol
It helps having 2 grenades atleast and not 1
While, yes, the DMR is arguably the best of the rifle weapons, if feel that it’s somewhat of a challenge to do well with the other weapons. Maybe you won’t do quite as well as with the DMR, but it’s kind of hard to make everyone weapon perfectly balanced, but still different.
I’m working on my carbine commendation and I’m actually finding that I like the weapon. It’s good at tacking others by surprise. So try using different tactics with the other rifles. Don’t just go walking around and putting 5 shots into whoever like you probably do with the DMR.
To get the LR up just go into big team, it’s a 4 shot kill when zoomed in and has a faster kill time than the DMR.

Thats good to know but Im also working on the promethian grenade, Ill shed a tear if I managed to get one of those grenade kills on BTB

It’s not too bad really… I have started equipping them in a few loadouts and all it takes is getting down an enemy’s shields and then tossing one in and it’s an instant death if your toss is accurate.

Promethean Grenades aren’t too hard if you carry two of them.
I feel your pain though. Luckily I recently master the UNSC loadout so I can use the weapons I want to again. It’s playlist orientated. So Oddball is the perfect playlist for mastering weapons, especially close range ones. If you want to master the UNSC pistol play SWAT.
Unless someone else found other ways, the only one to get kills with the pulse grenade is when there are like 4 guys nested in a corner.

King of the hill and have the perk where you can hold onto more grenades. Throw them at the same person.

Honestly I agree with this. A charged shot takes down shields and all but kills somebody, but it seems to take an additional infinite amount of single fire shots to actually kill them.
I don’t know if I’ll ever get that one… I just don’t think I’ll ever have the patience to be honest.

At least Crawler Snipers exist. Practically nobody EVER uses the Mongoose, even fewer stay in the open long enough to get shot at.
