Now, keep your hand up if you bought a copy of this game.
Those of you with your hand up are part of the problem. Between the beta and the pre-launch coverage, we knew what Halo 5 was going to be.
The best shot we have to invoke change in 343’s practices is to vote with our wallets. Being vocal about what we want doesn’t hurt, but our efforts are wasted here because 343 doesn’t visit their own forums. If you want Halo to play like a Halo game again someday, then don’t buy the ones that stray from that formula. We’ve already made Halo 5 one of the weakest Halo launches in terms of number of units sold. However, so many of you bought the game before coming here to complain about the changes. 343 doesn’t care that you’re “done with this game” or that “nobody will be playing in a few months” because they already have your money.
If you’ve already bought your copy and don’t like it, then return it or trade it in. If you bought digitally and don’t like it, well then it’s too late.
It’s not about adding new abilities or the faster pace. It’s about how the game plays. They completely abandoned core halo concepts like map control, teamwork, and emphasis on aiming ability. With the shorter ttk, shorter radar distance, service tags not always visible, and poor map design, emphasis is on patrolling the map solo in an attempt to sneak up on your opponent and just shoot them from behind with more emphasis on movement versus shooting ability.
This is why people say the game plays like cod now, not because of the thrusters and ads.
I just don’t understand why 343i hates vehicles. Halo 3 they were amazing with entire levels almost dedicated to them. Halo 4 they were pointless a scorpion could be taken out by concentrated BR wtf?!. They’ve made some improvements but still get the crap kicked out of them by even the basic weapon. Not to mention the extreme claustrophobic levels which are just camper’s wet dreams.
All because casuals didn’t like that skilled players could go on rampages.

Agreed. These posts about missing ‘Old School’ Halo need to stop. Halo 5 is now and it is here to stay. If you didn’t want to play it, then you shouldn’t have bought it. You can certainly return it for some money back if you don’t. I don’t feel 343i is EVER going to switch back to the Old Model of Halo. (Which, would most likely be extremely boring and would never fit in today’s gaming society.) I think you guys do have an answer to this request. Halo MCC. You can play old school there.

Eh, you can still fight by not playing it. Population retention has almost as big of a voice as sales.
Arena/Default Halo 5 is better than Default Halo:CE, Default Halo 2 and any form of Halo 3.
I probably had more fun in Halo:CE M6D starts and Halo 2 BR starts though. However, the addition of smooth-feeling juke and jump moves adds the sick factor it never had before.
It’s a fresh feel with good weapon balance that feels like Halo. I’ve only heard positive comments on the new direction.
I’m going to enjoy the game as long as I can, but maybe Halo 6’s story and gameplay will revolve around the M6D again…would be awesome.

See is people like you who are the problem. We don’t need to go back to halo 3 and prevent innovation. However 343i doesn’t seem to even understand what their player base wants.
A. skill>twitch ability
B. Powerful vehicles which can be deadly in pro pilots
C. Longer ttk than other fps.
D. skill >> bullet count
E. always balanced gameplay
F. split kill count and objective gameplay
G. limited power weapons
You can still get these features without implementing an absorption of other FPS style. For example the spartan charge, clamber, and boost I don’t feel are broken with the fact everyone has them. They are broken though when you don’t consider how they impact other gameplay, For example
the uber ridiculous 10 second flag captures in objective games,
their ability to make boarding vehicles from difficult to incredibly easy,
their ability to allow map jump professionals to have absurd advantage over othersThings like this have to be considered when implementing changes on the nature 343 has and I don’t think they have effectively
If you want to go play a game like other FPS GO PLAY ANOTHER FPS.

I just wish campaign had been longer and Locke was not force fed to me…

This statement is good enough to end this thread.
Halo 3 is my favorite Halo both for Campaign and MP, but it doesn’t mean that Halo 5 needs to be ANYTHING like Halo 1 - 3. Halo 5 is Halo 5. Get use to it.

No. I’ll play this new game 343 made. If you want to play H1-H3, you go do that. If you want to play H5, then do that.
They re-released Halo CE a total of 3 times for Xbox (CE,CE:AE,MCC). Halo 2 and 3 got re-released in MCC along with Halo 4. And you STILL want another one???
Please no. I love Halo 3, but Halo 5 made some good changes that I’m really on board with and have been enjoying thoroughly. As far as guns, movement, abilities and mechanics are concerned they 1-upped Halo 4 in almost every way. Most of the content in the game is good. The biggest issue is just that there isn’t enough content.
These threads are getting so old and lame… sorry if you can’t move on from the past… but that is what MCC is for. You have every Halo on Xbox One so why keep complaining about something that clearly isn’t going to change. I have loved every Halo title that has been made. Every Halo has brought new game play and mechanics. It’s awesome having to learn new skills and tactics. If you want the same game repackaged and resold to you maybe Halo isn’t for you… guess what when Halo 6 gets made odds are there will be more changes made for it so start bracing yourself now

This.
its like someone expecting chevy to make the new Z016 Vette to be more like the 1964 stingray. Never gonna happen. If you want to drive a classic car then go drive a classic car. Same principle.
