I’ve been playing MCC a lot lately and was wondering if there are any plans to increase the private files/saves for maps and gametypes limit from 50?
I’ve been downloading a lot of maps from matches in CGB, starting to make my own now as well and i’ve noticed it fills up pretty quickly.

why don’t you just delete the ones you don’t want. I wrote a batch file to delete all the temps file in every game
in the following folders all at the same time since 343i does not have a delete all button: Videos, Gametype and Maps all at the same time. Works for me.
But 50 modes and 50 maps is nowhere near enough. If I have the space on my machine, then why am I limited to only having 50 of each? Sometimes I like to Forge a lot and I don’t like having to delete my least favorite creations >:(
I agree. It’s a huge pain. Even Xbox One players can’t stand this limit and use the fileshare to get around it.
Local files can be found here:
C:\Users<USER>\AppData\LocalLow\MCC\LocalFiles
%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\MCC\LocalFiles
Built-in files for Reach can be found here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Halo The Master Chief Collection\haloreach\map_variants
The file structure is the same for the other games. “Groundhog” is Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer.
Don’t mess with the hopper_game_variants or hopper_map_variants folder because that’s used for matchmaking. You can copy stuff out of it but don’t edit or remove stuff in it. Windows Store owners should be extra careful not to lose a file. If you are on the Steam version and mess something up then removing any identically-named replacement files and verifying game files can fix it.
If you are using the Windows Store version (this is the Xbox Game Pass version) then you can only manually put extra files in the local files folder, you have to bypass UWP restrictions in order to store them elsewhere. This means you can easily manually go above 50 but can’t simultaneously keep the private file limit under 50.
You can open most .bin and .mvar folders in Notepad and use Word Wrap to see the in-game name and description near the top. Don’t save any changes to them.

The temporary files don’t count towards anything. You are talking about storage space on your PC, OP is talking about MCC’s saved file limits. On PC you can get around this by storing gametypes and forge maps where the built-in ones are.
