First off, this is not a rage thread this is just a discussion thread. Sure, this may be the 500th one this week but i feel the need to express my opinion, i am just sick and tired of playing Ragnarok 5 times out of 6 every time it comes up in the rotation. Not to be one for nostalgia but they really should have brought back the veto system from halo 3, at least that one gave you somewhat of a chance to get rid of the same map being played over and over again. The real problem with Ragnarok is it’s not exactly balanced at all due to the fact that sprint lets you rush towards the pelican or rocky area right of beach spawn and camp there with camo and DMR cross map shooting. In Halo 3 it was evenly balanced because the only long range weapons were the beam rifle, sniper and splaser. The BR was helpful but wasn’t really useful cross map like today’s DMR. I don’t know i want to hear everyone’s opinion. For the love of god keep it civilized, i.e. no flaming or trolling for the sake of it just because you don’t like to use logic like a normal human being.
Valhalla was good on 3, 4’s version is bad with the mech and other changes
I personally don’t have a problem with the map. I really like it. Maybe because it’s the closest thing in Halo 4 I have to Halo 3. I dunno. I get why people would get sick of it after doing it so many times, but I haven’t even played it more than maybe twice in a row at any one time.
I feel you here. Every day I play this map I wonder why its even in the game. Its just too open for eight on eight all with long range weapons that can and will fire across the map. You will barely be able to move around the map without being shot by the entire other team soon. In my opinion it should be taken out of Big team. They would have pleased a lot more if they brought back Pit or Guardian.
I like it, plus its really easy to take out the mantis :D.

But to OP yea I do get a little tired of Rag, I’d like to see some map remakes in forge to come out for playlists, love to see lockout in space o.o
OT: Also what we can make out of forge is pretty epic if you stop complaining and start building, I know I’m trying to make some epic 4v4 maps but I doubt they’d get any recognition

fans begged 343 to bring back Sandtrap or Valhalla with an almost obsessive persistence in the months prior to Halo 4’s launch
343 remakes one Valhalla last time for the xbox 360 as “Ragnarok” for the fanbase and uses it to announce the Mantis
More fans complain about it being played too often despite previous obession to bring it back.

Careful what you ask for next time fanbase. You might just get more than you wanted. Besides, i notice how persistent a lot of players were in asking for 343 to bring back Val. Since it’s a “great” map, all of you who asked for back should have saw this coming as it being the most played map. Since it’s full of win, we shouldn’t be seeing that much complaining but alas that’s what we getting.
If it wasn’t Ragnarok, it be Longbow. If it wasn’t Longbow, it be another map that would be overplayed. It’s the way it works.
they should take ragnarok out off btb and make a ragnarok 24/7 playlist to catter for both people

Range don’t mean nothing if its just camping by the middle with people to back it up, and yea the range does suck, but I run in fear towards it with a plasma pistol only to get shot down by other blues/reds on vortex, however that map is alot more close nit with all the damn rocks, unless someone actually wants to take their power weapon outside of the middle room to blow it up.
I wouldn’t mind it in btb if it wasn’t picked EVERY SING TIME over all other maps. I’ve only ever played vortex twice, and meltdown only once, it’s getting ridiculous! And if ragnarok isn’t on the list, then it’s always exile. But what I hate most is when I try to play ctf, it’s always rag or complex. I really like ctf on adrift, but if either of those two maps are on the list (and the list ALWAYS has one of them), then I can kiss my vote goodbye, because it won’t matter.
