Ragnarok feels to one sided because Mantis...

Whenever I seem to join a match or start one on Ragnarok it feels like the Mantis makes the map to controllable. Whatever Mantis survives weather red team or blue team whatever one wins the first face off that team is going to spawn trap the hell out of you which is no fun. :frowning: Long story short I have yet to play a Big Team Infinity Slayer match on that map where one team is getting destroyed badly.

Possible maybe to make the Mantis have a “never” respawn time when it gets destroyed. I don’t know all I know is you guys need to figure out to make that map work with the Mantis still involved so you don’t have to remove what you wanted to put in.

Maybe take the Banshee and leave the mantis in that could work.

i dont seem to have this problem. if you can get close to it the mantis is incredibly easy to destroy, i snuck up on one earlier todsy. hologram really helps. ive played maybe 5 matches on ragnorok and the mantis is never that big of a player in the match. this is just my experience.

I concur. Ragnarok feels like a “tug of war” match. It never seems like its even; at least in the matches i’ve been in. Maybe that kind of gameplay is fun for others…but I like a more dynamic map. Exile for the win! :wink:

Mantis is fine. It’s actually really vulnerable and easy to take down. Then again, if you never use the Plasma Pistol I wouldn’t expect you to know that.

i think it is fine. its easy to los and decently easy to destroy. there are plenty of counter weapons for it on the map then you have the more than likely chance you will get something decent from an ord drop.

Personally i think the Banshee should maybe go instead

if you think it’s so strong it needs to be removed, you’re probably not attacking it correctly.

I shoot them like crazy with the DMR and killed them I think they should take out the banshee and make the map feel more accessible rather than a fight for who will spawn trap the other I don’t remember Vallaha in Halo 3 playing like it does in Halo 4

I have no issues with the banshee or mantis

I fell the same way i don’t like the map now because of it

I find that in Big Team Slayer that the fights are a little more one sided. but I don’t think it is specific to Ragnarok.

I hypothesize that the reason is because it is 8 on 8. The skill gap variation is too wild because the game is too new for the skill detection to be accurate. This results in one team being clearly more skilled then the other which cause land slide victories. Give the game a week or two and Imagine this type of thing will happen far less.

Doesn’t help whenever that map comes up Insta-win in vote. They just need to make the map flow better.

Sorry… but how can Ragnarok be one sided when there are two Mantis mechs?

Maybe one sided wasn’t the best choice of words my point is that the map feels very spawn trappable way more than i remember in Halo 3.

I think the Mantis works really well on that map. Plus plasma pistol and plasma grenade loadouts really mean that vehicles aren’t ever going to dominate like with H3 or Reach.

PP, stickies and PW’s sort out the Mantis though. Just have to be organized and quick about it.

Tug of war is perfect lol. Love this map, would not change a thing.
