radar woes

Why is the radar competely useless now? Who decided only 18 metres radious? In big team and normal slayer its not like playing halo anymore, where the radar is a tactical tool, for use to outfox people, but more importantly to stop you from running around a corner and being met with instant death, I don’t play call of duty because it has no radar, because being sucker killed all the time has no tactical element, you just get annoyed, this is particularly annoying on big team with vehicles, there is no indication of an imminent splatter, another really annoying problem, what was wrong with the halo 4 radar that gave a vehicle indication so you could avoid this consistently, you’ve made the game like an MLG game, 1 person in every 100,000 is a MLG player

You’re behind on your complaining, radar was launch complaint material

So basically, you’re saying that if you can’t stare at a radar and actually have to look at the rest of your screen its an mlg game

I like the 18m range radar, if anything theres less camping because of it. People crouching in a corner cant see you coming from the other side of the map.
In Social CTF some games had a 40m 25m radar in some games and i didnt like it for the small maps. You could literally see people on your radar from across the map.

I say is too small, but not by a large margin.

I’m not saying its MLG because of staring at the radar you numpty, it needs to be changed so its worth having, like in halo 4, rather than completely useless, its taking up screen space with something that doesn’t matter, because you can move so fast in halo 5, 18 metres is no way near big enough, oh and by the way halo 5 multi player was designed by MLG players, we are not all MLG players, that’s the point

I’ve personally grown used to the smaller radar. It’s still useful in certain situations but it doesn’t reveal too much which was a problem in H4 IMO. You could see so much with the radar that it became a bit of a crutch at times. With the smaller radar ranger now you must rely more on callouts/map awareness in order to get things done. I find myself using my headset way more in H5 than i used to because I’ll hear people before I see them on the radar. Just some food for thought.

I like it. Can sneak around, and if you are careful, you can see people sneaking around you.

I understand how the change can definitely affect a person’s gameplay who is used to and comfortable with the latter. However, I do believe that the Halo 5 radar has a lot of utility. For one, the call out indicator for the map is right below the radar. Don’t know what to call a spot? There it is! Two, the radar still acts as an elevation indicator allowing\ you to be aware of differences in elevation between you and an opponent based on brightness or dimness of the blip. Bright being on the same level and dim equaling above or below your position. Three, the vehicle indicator on the radar is an unmistakable diamond shape.

This is not COD! You have to hunt your prey Spartan!

I had a “Sniper” loadout in H4 with Extended Radar. It covered about 1/2 of Valhalla. Those were the days.
