Radar vs Sprint and Spartan Charge: radar wins

TL;DR Version: be more aware of your surroundings. Wearing a headset does wonders.

Hey guys. Just wanted to share my observation regarding the short ranged radar detecting Spartan Charging (SC) and sprinting opponents.

People consistently cite it being too short to both detect spartan charging or sprinting opponents and allow you to evade. I have found this to be false, and let me explain why.

First, the radar certainly does only give you between half a second to a second before before a SC’ing guy can hit you. This is plenty of time. I typically do a diagnal boost toward the SC’er, and I cant remember the last time it didnt work.

Sprinters are less cited, but nonetheless complained about. People sprinting are very loud. The thruster sound is a dead giveaway and will alert you if you are being aware of your surroundings.

The radar is basically a CQC radar. If someone is on your radar, you didnt do enough (i.e. map control) to keep them from getting so close and so no one should be mad. The map shouldnt be a substitute for awareness.
