Radar still on 18 meters!!!! :@

thats it i dont like it ( Master Chief voice)

Yay!

Quit relying on radar! It’s more of a motion tracker anyways. It’s helpful to determine if it is safe to walk through that doorway and give general direction for where your teammates are. That’s about it. So what if you have to turn around every now and then see what is going on around you.

Did you think because you whined about it, it would be insta changed? lol

stop -Yoinking!-

The radar always went out to 25 meters in previous games, was it detrimental to the game? No. 343 doesn’t have a good reason to keep it at 18, and the sooner they fix it the better.

Halo always had no sprint and Spartan abilities. But that has changed. If you support these changes then you are a hypocrite.

Why fix something that isn’t broken? They should just remove radar all together.

18m is fine honestly. Go play CoD if you have to see everything around you.

Play custom games. You can adjust the motion tracker range all you want.

New changes don’t break the game, bad changes do. People seem to think that you have to either support or go against changes, and that there is no middle ground and that all changes are automatically bad or good. If I support Spartan Abilities, but not the new radar, how does that make me a hypocrite? I want this game to play as well as it possibly can, and if we’re going to mobile if anything the radar should have more range.

The radar is just fine.

No, I disagree. With more movement the radar should be reduced. What’s the point of having more movement if everyone can see you on the radar. Doesn’t seem logical to me.

To each there own I guess. I believe sprint and armor/Spartan abilities were bad changes, which broke the game. But that’s off topic. Radar reduction is not game changing. The first 10 kills usually in a game lets you understand your opponent. Don’t put yourself in bad situations. Don’t blame radar range for your poor situational awareness.

Remove it then. It’s a distraction.

Also - whether you want to admit it or not - it’s a skill to use the radar and play the game at the same time. Believe it or not - most people don’t just sit in a corner and use their radar to camp. Some of us used it to determine where it was safe to strafe or not (if there’s a dot on radar to my left, guess I’m not straffing in a way to where that dot a line of sight on me - keeping it 1 v 1 instead of 1 v 2). Heck - this small radar doesn’t even stop the campers from camping. You just don’t see as many campers now because it’s more productive to use sprint and thruster to just run away now.

It’s not a matter of awareness, it’s a matter of reaction time. If you see a red dot zooming in on you from behind, you’re dead before you can turn around. With players being able to move this fast, an 18 meter radar is like having a guy say “Watch out!” after you get shot in the back of the head. Unless 343 adds a button that let’s players turn 180 on a dime, then this game would be better off with more radar range.

You can easily hear someone sprint in towards you. If someone is able to sprint all the way up to you and then you finally notice them because of the 18m radar, then you should lose that battle. You lost that battle because you have blinders on, meaning you are only focusing on what’s in front of you and your radar.

You don’t need to have a 180 turn button. It’s called if you are in a good position, you use this thing called a thruster and move behind cover and then use that cover to your advantage. Halo strats 101.

You say that as if footsteps are the only sounds this game makes. There are sounds of gunshots, explosions, chatter, and anything else that’s happening around us outside of the game. Don’t assume to know how well I can play Halo 5, I doubt that you’ve even had one match with me. All I want is to improve Halo 5, but all I hear from you is “The game’s not the problem, you’re just bad.”

The radar (Motion sensor) has to accommodate the new Spartan ability’s and the new Map sizes (hence why the radar size changes from Arena, BTB and Warzone).

I’m glad they left it alone. I wish they left the aiming alone too. It feels like they tweaked that.

It seems we may have a disconnect. You may be talking about Warzone Radar, but I’m talking about Team Arena Radar. If you want the radar larger for Warzone, go for it. But, increasing radar will not help you the way you think it will because the more skilled players will use and abuse it. Radar is actually a crutch and if you are depending on radar that much, its actually a bad thing.

All I am doing is stating my opinion and defending the 18m radar. The best compromise is to increase Warzone Radar, have radar increased to 25m in Team Arena and have a playlist with Radar removed to make everyone happy. All I hear when people complain about the 18m radar is, :" I don’t want to actually understand where my opponents are, I just want the game to show me where they are on my radar".

P.S. Turn off spartan chatter, you will thank me later.
