That’s not right 343.
NO, that was a great move. As was the “No Magnums” move too.
Look at slayer pro, majority of people go there just to get assassinations to get fancy armor, because it is so easy with lack of radar.
There are killcams and radar in TS = A lot less camping.
especially if your not giving me a pistol as a secondary…i mean what kind of SNIPER carries a secondary weapon!!! Only an idiot would carry a secondary weapon with a snipe. (sarcasm)
It’s called Team Snipers, not Team Magnums.
As for Radars, the maps are usually large enough you shouldn’t be within range, anyway. Why do they matter? How are or aren’t they vital to Team Snipers? If you can’t get a headshot without sneaking up behind someone from 2 feet away, you’re bad.
agreed its not team magnums HOWEVER i think its pretty much a known fact that SNIPERS CARRY A SECONDARY in every branch of service in all nations on this planet. you cannot possibly tell me when someone does get close and it DOES happen that both of you expend all of your rounds then are running side to side reloading isnt a bit ridiculous…

do you even know what a sniper is? by its very definition:
a rifleman who fires from a concealed place, esp a military marksman who fires from cover usually at long ranges at individual enemy soldiers
this basically means…find cover…camp…kill
the whole point of sniping is to not allow the enemy know where the shot came from…hes dropped before he even hears the shot fired. get rid of radar and add a secondary. the maps (for the most part) that the teams playing should spread out and have the full range of the map covered with interlocking sectors of fire.

I agree real snipers carry more than just their sniper. However, just in case you haven’t noticed, this isn’t real life. Its Halo, and Team Snipers is just that, Team SNIPERS
Agreed OP, radar and lack of good maps really killed off Snipers. RIP.
The only time I can accept a real life comparison with a game is when you have idiotic things like grenades rolling uphill towards your player in Call of Duty.
Otherwise, your cries fall on deaf ears. It’s a game and it’s meant to test your skill within the boundaries of its constraints. If you had a Magnum, we all know instead of sniping you would just run around and pistol everyone.
I am already fed up with people sprinting up and trying to beat me down every two seconds. I don’t need pistols to add to my frustration.

obviously…but when someone does decide to get up close and your dancing with them then run out of ammo and have to reload…well after about 2 or 3 times of this your kind of like “christ just give me a magnum so this stupid (expletive deleted) will end!”
This is the part where I tell you to get better. Not as an insult, but seriously. Did you ever consider backing away or pushing in for a beatdown?
No one is forcing you to dance.
Hasn’t Team Snipers always had the Motion Sensor? Except for Team Snipers Pro of course.
As for this whole “Snipers are meant to be used from great ranges while camping and hiding” argument. Yes I can agree to an extent, but these are super soldiers in a fictional sci-fi universe in a gorram War Game simulation, they’ll utilise a sniper in every possible way they want.
> This is the part where I tell you to get better. Not as an insult, but seriously. Did you ever consider backing away or pushing in for a beatdown?
Pushing in for a beatdown results in a mutual kill in the majority of cases. This is fine if you’re an average player, but a good player will try to get the kill without getting killed in the process.
Think of it this way, if you’re good and your opponent is bad, you can either:
A) Dance around, and have a high chance at getting the kill and staying alive
B) Run in for a melee, and have a high chance of getting the kill and dying
If you’re a competitive player it should be a no brainer.
I agree that Radar needs to go, the whole point of not having it is to punish those that aren’t paying attention to their surroundings and checking their backs.

Unless you’ve already shot them once, and melee’ing would be faster because you are within melee distance.

Yes, it has. People always seem to forget stuff like that when complaining about the current gametypes.
Team Snipers Pro was the gametype that lacked radar. Team Snipers always had radar.

We are not trying to recreate reality in Halo universe. We want to snipe. Simple as that.
The radar in team snipers promotes camping. People either stand inside buildings, waiting for someone to come by, or keep sniping from one spot on the map. Removing the radar would encourage them to keep moving.

Do you know what this is? A game. If you’re trying to bring in the “realism” argument to Halo, you’re just wrong.
Learn to use your weapon in close encounters too, or rush for a melee kill if your aim is so horrible. Or, if that doesn’t work out for you, run away and keep going for long range kills.
It needs a radar in Halo 4 because everyone will chase you if you don’t. They obvious way to fix this would make it audible when people are sprinting, but of course 343 didn’t do that.

That isn’t always the case. People still camp no matter what, because most people either skip the killcams, or they still wait at their camping spot to get the kill. Besides, the killcams are rubbish.
Team Snipers with instant spawn isn’t remotely fun in any single way. Shooting an enemy while they’re still scoped in isn’t even fair at all.
Especially on Ragnarok, that’s the worst map for Snipers, or any single other kind of gamemode.
