I genuinely feel I’d get more information from a wooden stick then the radar in this game. It gives no useful tactical information whatsoever. Ether put in a proper radar system or remove it completely to free up screen space. I can’t believe after all the feedback after the flights that you have still gone down this route.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed. I rely on my motion tracker all the time and it might as well not even be there.
Agreed. The motion tracker is a fundamental part of Halo gameplay. Now it feels like COD with the radar that only shows enemies shooting and sprinting. It sucks.
I’m glad someone else used the Cod comparison. I’ve never gotten shot from so many different angles in a halo game
Yep it sucks!! Might as well not have a radar.
I’ve had several times where there was a enemy sprinting close to me with a sword, thanks to the fov, but he did not show up on the radar
That’s one of the things that always drove me crazy about COD. Now it’s in Halo. Ugh.
If I’m defending an objective, someone shouldn’t be able to just stroll up behind me at full speed and assassinate me with no warning. You shouldn’t be able to walk around a corner and surprise someone. Crouch walking used to be required if you want to sneak around, now it’s pointless.
The lack of footsteps sounds aggravate me. Either do that or make the radar useful lol. I’m finding it harder to move through the map because of getting mowed down for several different angles. The maps dont have much eb and flow, just randomness like modern warfare 2019.
The radar is of no use. By the time you see something on your radar they are already engaged with you. It’s pointless. Needs to be twice as large
Also the sounds of grenades landing, incoming gunfire, and other audio cues that you’re under attack seem very inconsistent. This adds up to me frequently dying almost before I realize I’m under attack, which I always hate in a video game. Honestly, that will turn me off from a game faster than almost anything else.
I can handle getting assassinated or sniped - those are supposed to be instakills with no warning. But when someone can walk up and beat me to death with normal melee, or empty an AR mag into my back, with zero warning, that’s just wrong. That’s not the experience I expect or want when I play Halo.
Hell the grenades seems so inconsistent. I’ll be away from the explosion effect and still take damage but I’ll watch my blow up at someone’s feet and nothing happens.
Absolutely agree, I used to literally only be watching the radar in other titles until I engaged in a fight. Now I find myself being shot from multiple different places with no clue as to where I’m being shot from.
I feel the same. I’ll look at my radar and nothing is there. So I now have a false sense of security and someone comes out of nowhere and kills me. The radar blows and the player outlines are garbage. I want red and blue teams back
That has always happened to me in Halo. So far it feels better in Infinite. In Reach, I could throw a grenade at someone’s feet and watch it launch them into the ceiling without killing them, meanwhile the grenade they threw 20 feet past me somehow manages to kill me.
Exactly, 343 will not fix this for some reason, even though so many people have complained. Stuff like this is why I think 343’s Halo will never live up to the perfection of Halo 3.
It’s infuriating. They’ve done some really great work, I’m super thankful to have Infinite out early for example, but why, why why do they keep doing stuff like this with the motion tracker? and the flag and oddball? and the battle pass and challenges? Why? Why can’t they let go of their obsession with “Making Halo their own” and stop trying to fix things that aren’t broken?
If you increase the radar you get people camping just sitting there with an energy sword staring at it waiting to get cheap kills on others who move around the map playing the objective.
Can be balanced. If you crouch your radar becomes less effective (this one) also for fair trade. Like Reach’s invisibility, both side shouldn’t be able to detect.
Oh sweet Halo 5 Beta Radar. 30 m !!!
I think this nes a smalltalk rework to. You See the Player shooting at you and close the distance and you don’t see gim an your motiontracker. Second bevor a melee kill ther is a red dot.
